comedy gold
i reckon moyes or strachan, sparky???? for the post, they'll be british thats for sure

Rooney, despite a 16 goal season tally, has looked unfit for ages and his first touch (no granny jokes!) has been lousy. I say cash in on him to the highest bidder, along with the other deadweight (no fat jokes!), and spend the cash in midfield.

Mourinho is too wild and has a short attention span, Moyes is the right man and good luck to him, an impossible task to succeed the greatest football manager.

Nice to see some other reds on the forum, thought it was just me!

No fear, your not alone, I was a season ticket holder, now relinquished to my lad, but I do get on Stretford end :)

Fergie has got it right so many times with players, we have to trust his instincts on rubber stamping Moyes, agree that the special one would have only been short term, but it's no secret that he and Ronaldo were not best buddies, so you never know :?:

I wish Moyes the best and we all need to get on board and back him, he's a red now.
:D

Being a Everton fan, this is truly heartbreaking.
He gets the best out of average players and gets them to fight for the cause.
It's been common knowledge that he was always going to Old Trafford, it was just a matter of when Fergie went.

Who do we get :(

I guess i'll just have to trust Fergie's judgement.Granted Moyes has done wonders with Everton but it remains to be seen whether he can cut the mustard with so much focus and pressure on him, fingers crossed!
Who would you like to have as a replacement Cracatilla?

Whoever comes will have it tough.
Reckon Baines will end up at Old Trafford, Jakielka will go as will fellani.
This will break us up as a squad.
It's the start of a downhill spiral that will see us relegated within a couple of years.

Gutted!

Everton linked with Martinez and Laudrup which would be good for you. Have also seen Malky Mackay - not so sure on that one

This made me laugh but you've got to be wrong. What state is Liverpools season in. The last wish must have been a dud.
If Moyles hits the ground running he'll be the best signing Utd have made in years AND he'll stick around. His signings have been spot on for Everton, he gets fantastic value out of mediocre players and as a bonus it's gonna piss Rooney right off.
I love Utd but cant bide Rooney at all. Heres hoping Bayern Munich or PSG pay big. :D

Either Martinez or Laudrup will be good for Everton particulary Laudrup he seems like a really good manager IMO who later in his career could be managiing some European giants IMO 8)

I am looking forward to Moyes reign.

How he deals with the Rooney situation is gonna be a good indicator tho

Well put Q!

There's too many average players in the squad. I say give cleverley and young another season but the likes of Nani, Anderson and Valencia are far too hit and miss.
If someone offers 30 million for Rooney then I'd snap there hands off. He's looked out of sorts for most of the season. Barring one good pass for Van Persies second against Villa, he's not done much else.
I reckon Moyes will do a good job but he's gonna need a bit of time.

If they stay Moyes will get the best out of Nani and Andreson. Valencia has always been a quality player though he didnt have a great seaon.
His track record with mediocre players is amazing, Nani and Anderson have so much skill and ability I think Utd would be crazy to get rid of them now. 1 more year under another manager might do the trick, they just need consistancy. Anderson on fire is hard to touch even though I cant remember the last time that was :?
As for signings, get rid of Rooney and go all out for Lewinski (or whatever its spelt/pronounced) him and RVP, with Hernandez, Welbeck (I dont rate him) and the kids Powell and Henriquez. This will make a great stike force. The other thing is Macheda might play better under Moyes
Midfield is where were weakest, I dont see Ronaldo as an option but we'll see what happens over the next few weeks/months

I'd be glad to see Nani go tbh,he just doesn't seem to utilise his skill well, his decision making is awful. When Anderson has the bit between his teeth hes a joy to watch but it just doesn't happen too often.I can't see how Moyes could do any better than Fergie bringing out the best of players like Nani and Anderson.Valencia came back from his broken leg really well but this season he just can't find his form,I think he'll come good again. As for Rooney,I don't care if he stays or goes after his antics in 2010,though I think he'll definitely be leaving this summer anyways.

I think Rooney is class, but hasn't got the passion for the red shirt
Hopefully Moyes will carry on the tradition of trying to instill the pride and passion that the club has to the core

Thanks lad, off you pop and let's get another player that has passion, we need another Keano in midfield for a start, another Ronaldo ( preferably the man himself) and another Eric...that l do for a start :!:

As a lifelong Toffee knew this day would come eventually but still sad to see Moyes go. Utd's fans will be getting a quality manager and in my opinion a quality human being. Always handles himself with class, he's honest upfront and will I'm sure get the Utd squad behind him. I agree how he handles Rooney will be his first big challenge, I was under the impression the animosity between the two was ancient history, seen them shake hands many times since so was surprised to see Rooney looking to leave, maybe it's irrespective of Moyes coming, maybe he wants to return to his boyhood club ;) .

Strengths..transfer market; he has been second to non, he's no check book manager, although the kitty is higher at utd they still work to a budget and I'm sure he'll do that. Man management is excellent, you're losing a manager players will lay everything on the line for and getting a carbon copy in with Moyes, his ability to get the most out of the players is exceptional. Weaknesses, not many but at times he can be a bit slow at making a sub and will sit on a lead or draw rather than going for the jugular and killing a game off. Teams will always be organised though and when he has the players he knows how to build an attack with attractive football. He's no Fergie but who is? Just like when Fergie joined he has a bit to prove but he's hungry and will give it his all, I'm sure he will work well with Fergie being upstairs too, he's not arrogant to think it would be an obstacle, I'm sure he'll be drawing on the old fellas experience and I expect them to forge a tight relationship.

All the best DM, you've earned this now don't **** it up. :)

Take a bow 2stripes

Quality post

I hope this comes out as you say, and if Fergie keeps a toe in, then I think DM will do a job
Like you say there just isn't another Fergie

I hope you guys get a quality manager, and keep up the great football you've played for quite a while now, do like to watch Everton, dogged and determined team with some class players in my opinion

Emotional scenes from Old Trafford today. Sir Alex has transformed United from the dire side I watched when I was a lad into a world class football club. Speaking of class, as you say 2stripes, David Moyes has always conducted himself with style. It's won Everton many admirers with thier fine attacking brand of football.

I imagine that a dabble in the transfer market could help David Moyes settle in his new position. Get every penny possible for Rooney, and a few others to trade from Nani (indeed Lonebudman, awful decision-making), Wellbeck (decent player but very random, akin to Wanchope), and a player I've never thought much of, Anderson who occasionally flatters to deceive, but mostly plays like a cupboard.

Don't think a 'new Keane' is needed with Carrick having come of age this season. A creative midfielder and a new winger could be on the way in I reckon. I guess the other option is for Moyes to alter Rooneys role (should Shrek stay), to be more like the transition Scholes made, and turn him into an attacking central linchpin. Although that means Rooney would have to run about a bit more and lay off the Big Macs.
