Looking around at the serious cash that's spent collecting these days made me think - are there any famous Star Wars collectors that we know of ...are there any on here? 8)

Years ago i heard that Louis the 14th haired guitarist Brian May was a collector. Must be more. I do know that Chris Evans is a collector of film memorabilia but dunno about Star Wars. I reckon he's the type though :?

Both Leonardo Di Caprio and Christian Slater have had pretty large collections in the past -- there are also a few American collectors that I have never really heard of (Rick Springfield)

Just found this as well

I've never heard of Brian May being into star wars, and i've been Queen obsesive in my time, very much s collector of Queen stuff. He is an astronomer though so maybe that's the star connection??

Chris Evans definitely likes his Bond stuff, don't know about SW though

Edit: i stand corrected on the Brian May fact!!

Seen one of Christian Slater's mocs on eBay not too long ago.
Wonder if that was part of Ben Affleck's collection we seen in 'Argo' recently.
Near sure I seen something about Brian May collecting before.

The band Ash were huge fans of Star Wars and their bassist Mark is a big collector apparently. Their first album '1977' begins with the sound of TIE Fighters and they covered Cantina Band for the b-side of Girl From Mars.

A semi-appropriate picture:

I can imagine Brian May liking Star Wars. Freddie Mercury didn't. According to the song Bicycle Race at least....

That said, I think he liked Vader's helmet...

An avid collector, his house groans with vintage toys and Star Wars figures. A guitar-maker commissioned to rebuild his legendary first guitar was staggered to find that he had retained all the original tools he and his father had used way back in 1963 - right down to the original tins of wood stain.

Some might call him a geek or a nerd - a dweeb even - for that. The most charming thing about Brian May is that he's unlikely to care.

According to this excerpt from a newspaper article he does collect. 8)

Simon Peggy and Nick Frost are massive fans, not sure about collectors, i would guess so though. I was sat in LAX a few years back with a large Rancor and Ywing under my arm and got an approving nod from Pegg who happened to be on the same flight back to London.

I know a guy called Adrian Cordrey who used to deal in vintage star wars when I first started collecting who claims he put together a mint loose run especially on behalf of Brian May. Adrian went to his house to broker the deal once the set was complete I believe, and he distinctly remembers him being pretty tight and trying to beat him down on price. Then again, there is no knowing whether Adrian hiked his prices up in the hope that May would pay it regardless!

Maybe brian may has a Chewbacca focus? Not sure why that character came to mind.............

i found a moc owned on ebay by christian slater last year

Not sure which is more fruity - 3 members of Ash in the same bed or dear Freddie giving Vader a neck massage with his balls. Had it in my head the Brian May was a fan / collector for years, no idea where I heard it though. Adam Buxton and Joe Cornish are also famous fans and with lots of vintage toys too as often features on thier telly show. Twiggy Ramirez relaxing after a hard day of goth rock mayhem with some VSW gear? Aww bless.

Nigo From A Bathing Ape has one of the illest Star Wars collections! This video is pretty much a teaser because I've read that he owns actual props and more from the original trilogy. Check it out

owns the third largest Star Wars toy collection in the southern hemisphere??

Jimmy Pop form The Bloodhound Gang is apparently a big collector, watching CONAN the other night and Brian Austin Green of Beverly Hills 902354670 fame is apparently a huge fan too and currently building his own R2D2. Still doesn't make up for being in such a **** show

Here's a pic of Rick Springfield with a Headman. Courtesy of Chewseum.com

Oh how I wish that I had Ricky's Headman nah nah nah nah nah nah nah! Where can I find an Uzay like that! Sorry!

David James (goalkeeper) collects 12" vintage, has a massive action man collection and was quoted in a Pompey programme about buying 12" Star Wars figures....

If I can be bothered I will dig the programme out ( don't hold your breath though)
