GUYS and Ed you'll know that guy that sold me the recarded fake Jawa with crushed bubble in a jiffy bag BUT did refund when I said to him it was a fake??

Well he's only gone and done it again....

For those of you on here (RS) that don't know the story, in short, I asked him if it was geunine VC Cape and he said he was assured by the seller (found out later that he bought it from a guy off Ebay in August) that it WAS genuine and that he didn't know and coudln't be sure.

We then came to an agreement that I would pay £XXX amount BIN and if it turned out to be fake, as I would know in person, then he would refund me no problem and even wrtote this in the listing. Alll through it he was polite and seemed genuine. Can't go wrong if I'm getting my money back if it WAS fake.

It arrives crushed in a Jiffy bag, bubble coming away from card. A Jiffy bag???!! So I immediately take shots and email them to him explaining that he should've packed a bit better but anyhow the Jawa WAS fake and I will be sending it back for a refund. His tone simmers. He gets it back on the Friday as I checked when he signed for it. I get nothing back until Sat afternoon when I say I will contact Ebay if I dont.

Now it's back up oh and a 'fresh bubble' has appeared tho I'm sure he states that the SELLER assured HIM blah blah blah!

Here's the listing:

Here's the crushed version I received:

I wrote to him:

Dude, not cool. I thought you were ok and myself being an honest guy would have thought you would have made the right move on this one and either re-listed with a) the correct picture of the crushed bubble and b) the knowledge that it IS a fake OR not re-listed it at all.

I don't like dishonest people and I thought you to be an honest one so I'll give you the benifit of the doubt and put this down to an error. If I see this auction up by tomorrow afternoon I WILL contact Ebay.

Now I realise that the same 'might' have happened to my self.

I didn;t want to be said to be accusing anyone or anything! ;)

Anyone that buys that story is a sucker. Seller says" Well I got it from someone who stated it was a real vinyl cape, but without me opening it I haven't been able to do the zip test" . It's recard and I bet 10 to 1 it is a repro cape. Why would anyone in there right mind put an authenticVinyl Jawa on a Fake Card? This is a lame excuse. Idiot really. He isn't going to gain anymore from it being on a recard, if anything it should raise red flags I would hope with any potential buyer. If anyone is stupid enough to believe this than they deserve to be had. Why not remove it, zip test it, sell it as a confirmed viyl jawa and it leaves less doubt.

This is true dude but this is why I made sure I had insurance to get my money back. Why would he bother sending it to me knowing this and knowing he will have to refund me anyway???

The other thing is the fact he's re-listed it with the same picture as before and NOT the crushed one I sent back to him!

Also to be fair dude ANYTHING is possible in this collecting field. It's probably been done before by someone who HAS genuine VC Jawa and wants to display it on a recard, no reason why not, there are people like this out there!

I hear your argument, but yet it is just a hard thing to prove it is legit. Especially when it isn't out of the bubble. A figure of this caliber and its some what rarity will be held under much scrutiny under these circumstances. Basically all you have is the word of the seller. Anyone can make a recard cut down a Ben cape or use a repro cape and say the vinyl jawa is authentic and has been professionally recarded.

I can understand the theory of a person wanting to display it on a card and maybe have it recarded, but if you owned it , it would sit well with you because A you put it in there and B you confirmed it was real. Now outside the bubble which is the buyer, may have trouble believing this story.

It would be just as easy to take the figure out the bubble, sell it as a real vinyl cape jawa and leave it up to the buyer to recard it again.

Basically this SELLER is stating they DON'T KNOW if this item is AUTHENTIC. They were assured but they don't know 100 % and shouldn't sit well in the stomachs of potential buyers.

Just my 2cents.

What you say is true BUT in my experience, and I've had some good ones, if you want to dig out the bargains then you have to explore all avenues no matter how tight the chances of a positive outcome they are. This is what I did and this time turned out a blank.

If the guy wasn't prepared to refund me then I would most certainly have not even bothered BUT he did which made me have a slight thought that there might be a possibility. Tho also in this case I should've checked the feedback as I later found that he had bought the same one off another about a month or so before for around £35 so yes I didn't do my research enough there but I covered my back in terms of getting my money back.

The seller is a tosser, he paid 36 pounds for an original figure with 'vynal' cape recarded, he has feedback saying he sold it for 100 pounds & he now has another for sale!!!!

James, that one for £100 was me and the one he is selling is at a slightly different angle than the last which makes me believe you're right, that he's just recarding them and giving all this ****!! I emialed him anyway to state what he's doing is wrong and that if he doesn't do the right thing I'll contact ebay so we'll see.

Cheers James,

The guy just replied stating it IS the crushed one and maybe its the angle that can't be seen. I can't be bothered arguing with people like this, what's the point!!!

Ham, you're confused mate, this is SWFUK, not RS as you state in your post.
