just got a luke dt delivered this morning.

while examining the dt saber i noticed once its fully extended the thinner part doesnt come apart. i was under the impression that the thinner part comes fully apart from the main body of the sabre if pulled but once fully extended there seems to be some resistance. obviously im not gonna put pressure onto it as i might break it. what do you think????

ive never actually held a dt before but in some of the photos ive seen of them ive seen the dt can go into 2 pieces.

any comments from those of you 'in the know' would be greatly appreciated.

below are some pics ive taken.

thanks

adrian

ps. ops sorry guys just realised theres a whole thread just on fakes. sorry if ive posted this in the wrong section...forgive a noob :)

it shouldn't pull all the way out from the front as there is an 'anchor' on the back. But if you push it all the way in the thinner part should come out of the back of thefatter part - hope it works :)

It looks the wrong colour to me. It looks to dark but it could just be my eyes.

Grant.

they are dark photos - it's been aged very well if it's a fake. Does it have break points on the top?

It does look darker than it should but is well used/played with which is a good sign!! Repros tend to look 'too good' and unplayed with.

Hope it turns out to be the real thing mate :)

thanks for the replies guys :)

grant i think the colour is pretty much spot on. the photo is a bit dark but putting it in daylight it does seem ok.

thanks for letting me know about the anchor in the sabre spoons. that seems to make sense. i cant fully put the thin part back into the larger part of the sabre as its a bit mangled but judging by the length if it was perfectly straight it would pop out the back if fully inserted.

spoons im not sure what you mean by break points in the sabre. the thinner part is quite crooked and fragile. if i forced it it would surely break.

plantman it doesnt seem to have any letters on the sabre. i know what your getting at but where the letters should be (correct me if im wrong - on the hilt) its been pinched so much its got warped

the break points are where it was attached to the tree - a bit of plastic linking loads of sabres to their moulds.

There should be rough attachment points along the top of the inner and outer parts

i see what you mean. unfortunatley i cant see any as the sabre is pretty battered.

i think the best thing to do is to send it off to afa and see what they have to say.

i do think after reading your posts im 99% sure its genuine...i'll only be 100% sure once i get it back from afa though

thanks for your input gentlemen. will keep you posted

adrian :)
