All look a bit suspect to me..

Well spotted Joe, I had a look at these earlier & I know for FACT that the most of them are indeed fakes, though I am not 100% sure on the ugnaught or the snag, as they are both in ESB-a baggies so could be legit, but neither is what you would call common in that baggie type, I would need to see a close up of the heat seals to be 100%, but I would just avoid them all TBH.

A perfect example is the at at commander, he states "THIS FIGURE IS FROM THE REBEL COMMAND CENTRE PLAYSET" & if you check my listings out you can see I have a rebel command centre pack up for sale with all 3 correct baggies, as I just got a great graded one -

Quick shameless plug in the process

EDIT - did you spot his "Heat sealed dengar"? - read the description you will PYSL  - what a numpty

Thought so fella, cheers for confirming Mr Baggy! - Stay away chaps!!

Lol @ Dengar

Really angry now, should i contact the seller and see what they say about the baggies being fake ??

Can you not cancel the bids ?

I would just tell him you are not going to pay for them because they are fake - direct him to this thread if he has a problem

Yeah you should be able to cancel.

Tim if you want information on baggies: http://theswca.com/images-speci/baggiefeature/baggiefeature.html

Unfortunately people do reseal opened bags and sell them on as factory sealed :(

I sent the guy a link to this thread and this was his reply:

hi thanks for your email,as far as im aware none of my baggies are fake,i brought theses figures in a job lot from america some time ago, they look to me to be very real-to be honest i wouldnt pay any heed to what some one has said about them as 1. i wouldnt list them if i thought that they where fake and 2.they are real.i sold 3 of these baggies last month and the people who bought them off me where very happy-with no problems or concerns. the thing that makes me laugh is in your clip that you sent me they say they are fakes, then he says they could be legit!!!! which one is it?? i wouldnt take much notice of some one who doesnt know what they are talking aboutkind regardsDarren- 2011starwarscollectables

The no text are 100% fake the only reason that I said "could be legit" is that I have as yet never encountered those 2 figures in those baggie types which rings a few alarm belles, but I would need to see clear close ups of the heat seals b4 I would like to say yes or no as to there authenticity, but all the no text ones are as bent as a 3 bob note Tim, buy the sound of it that seller is full of himself & is not concerned about selling fake items, some sellers will tell you anything to sell there items, so I would be most cautious.

Tim, just got to the help tab and type in cancel bids

it will ask if you are buyer or seller - select buyer and then the next page will give you a list of the items you are bidding on - just select the items you want to cancel

Right then..

FAKE Horizontal Made in Hong Kong bag:

fake_atat.jpg

REAL Horiztonal Made in Hong Kong bags:

There are only THREE types of legit MIHK bags with horizontal text and they are ALL early figures, they are the SW-A, SW-D and SW-E which look like this:

SW-a.jpg

SW-d.jpg

SW-e.jpg

His looks like a figure sealed in a sandwhich bag that someone has taken a home made stamp to with purple ink..

Moving on:

FAKE ESB-H style bags (unmarked / heat sealed)

&

fake_lukehoth.jpg

REAL ESB-H style bag:

ESB-h.jpg

ESB-H bags while they can be small or large have a single seal line on them (not a double one like his) and where the seal is made the excess usually crinkles up. Especially on the smaller ones.

FAKE ESB-F style bag:

fake_snag.jpg

REAL ESB-F style bag:

ESB-f.jpg

This one is easy to spot, not only are the double heat seal marks visible (home made) but the bag is super short! Meaning it was probably cut down and sealed again to tidy it up, I can't say I have ever seen an ESB-F as short as a figure such as Snaggletooth.

These on the other hand are all legit Snag baggies:

Snaggleooth1.jpg

-Red Snag, heat sealed, "Kenner MIHK"
-Red Snag, heat sealed, Kenner/GM logo
-Blue Snag, heat sealed, Kenner/GM logo

Would he like me to go on?

3 bids retracted, although there are only 3 reasons why you can cancel bids.......i just put that the bidder changed the description of the item (nearest one to the real reason why i retracted my bid) Phewwwww. Hope i dont get into trouble for this :o

Np Tim, check out the following thread too if you want to see more 100% legit bags:

Also check out the SWCA baggie guide I linked to as well.

Tim - there is no-one, and I mean no-one, on this board that has not been duped one way or another during their collection history - it might be the case that this guy has been duped himself - but don't beat yourself up about it - there are plenty of experts like Frank and Joe who are always on hand to help :D

I agree completely with Iain, Tim honestly it's not the end of the world and be happy you found out before you won and stuck them on your shelf for a few years.

On the subject of the seller being duped, it does happen but at the same time you aren't much of a seller if you sell counterfeit items, it takes 5 mins to research things even if you bought them in good faith so you do not pass them on to others. As such, if the seller doesn't remove the listings based on the information in this thread then it makes you wonder just how "duped" he really was..
