Had a Snipe ready for this: http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/vintage-star-wars-death-star-droid-21-back-/252308077948?nav=WATCHING_ENDED

Been looking for an affordable SW DSD for years, but always seem to miss out. I've been using myibidder auction sniper for a year and it's never failed to put the Snipe in... Until last night. I kept refreshing the page and thought 'I've finally got one' but the Snipe didn't activate and just said I'd lost it because bidding had ended. It was set up properly as I double checked it several times. Absolutely infuriating!

H One thing to check is that your sniping account doesn't need your eBay password setting again this happens quite a lot with the service I use.

I'f I'm online for something I've put a snipe in for that I really want, I double up and bid manually anyway. The snipe is something you can use if you're not around to bid yourself, that's the way I see it.

I checked several times, and everything seemed to be in order. Don't know what happened really.

Yeah, should've done that, and will do in the future. Never had a problem before, so thought it would be fine :(

I must be the only prat that sets an alarm and counts the auction down

Nope. Alarms, reminders, snipes and manual bids all occur when I really want something.

I hate people using sniping tools, it's just not fun anymore

It's no different to manually bidding last second. This is the nature of eBay! I find a) I win more and b) those items I win, cost less as there is no chance of getting carried away and upping my bid.

I understand why people use them I just think it spoils the fun, It used to be a bit of a rush but now it's a bit like being beaten on penalties. Maybe I'm old fashioned :D

I like the convenience of a snipe + I *thought* it was guaranteed to get the bid in with 3 seconds to go, whereas it's more tricky to get the bid in late manually. Nevermind!

Totally with you on the rush of it all- it can get quite nerve-racking!

Not sure if this has been discussed before but what occurs if multiple users put in a snipe request on a single auction number?

Simply put it will take the highest bid. The snipe bids your maximum at the set time. If equal I guess it comes down to api registering the bid

They aren't new! I used my first sniping tool about 10 years ago, if not longer!

Cheers get it now.... :D all down to response time on eBay.

Another question....Can anyone recommend the best Free service to use, and is there any benefit's of using a paid service?
