I figured it was time I did a limelight on here. I know most have probably seen my collection of RS, but I just made a few changes that haven't been seen yet. ;)

I thought I would showcase the evolution of my collection over the years before I get to the current display.

Here is my little shelf of Star Wars probably around 1994. I started out mainly going after ROTJ figures as can be seen. At this time the common baggie figures were around $6 a piece so some of these figures came from those.

Unfortunately that is pretty much the only pic from the 90s that I have. This next picture is from around late 2000 to early 2001. I had just gotten back from living in England and pulled my collection out of storage. I was finally starting to go after POTF figs at this point. The figures are on display on some shelves in my bedroom closet at my parents house.

This is my collection after it came out of the closet :) when I got married. I started to go after a few vehicles at this point and finally got my first carded Luke Jedi.

Okay now on to the more current stuff. Here is a picture of my display case for my loose figure collection. I built this a little over a year ago.

Last night I finally got to Ikea with a truck and picked up two Detolf cases. I used an old example from Skye on RS where you do not put one of the sides on two cases to make two Detolfs into one bigger one.

I also picked up some little acrylic picture holders from Ikea. They come in a pack of 4 and they were about $1.50. I wanted to go for the more museum type feeling, so I did a little write up about items in my collection. I do get people that come to look at my collection from time to time and thought it would be a great way for them to learn a little bit about it.

Here is my Luke Jedi shelf.

Mail-Away shelf
I plan to get some acrylic risers that theearth sells so each figure gets its own shelf.

i like those coin holders next to the POTF loose figures - do you have 2 of those then? with figs and in frame??

Great stuff Skemple - i like the evolution :)

Your collection looks great

Great way to present your collecting years. It's great to have photos of your
early collection.

I really like the coin display, I keep seeing them and wondered where you get it
from? Was it brought out a while ago to purchase and you now just have to leep your eyes
open for one??

That was how I used to display my coins before I had the frame and made the decision to go ahead and try to get all 62. They are the stands from the POTF2 Millennium Minted line. I picked them up in a lot on ebay, but have since sold them. They were a neat way to display POTF figs with their coins.

Over the years I know some collectors have made frames and sold them. There hasn't been anything officially made. Last year Adam Burges posted a tutorial on RS and that is what I used to make mine. It is quite the project and well worth it. I decided to just go ahead and make one now even though I am probably still quite a few years away from finishing the set. It looks like some of the pictures are missing from the original tutorial. If anyone wants it I have it saved in pdf form and can post a link.

Great collection and well displayed 8)

Love the Luke Jedi focus :D

Thanks Stephen. I just tried taking another picture this time with the flash and it looks a lot better. The lighting in my collection room is very dim, but that is probably a good thing in the overall picture of things. :)

Hey Shawn, Great pictures, really nice to see how your collection AND display have changed over the years, I think that you have gone from strength to strength and now it looks like a mini museum! I love the cabinets you have for your Mail aways / Luke focus.

Great to see and thanks for sharing, from humble beginnings eh? :)

Thanks for the nice comments Joe. Yes very humble beginnings. I was about 15 when I started and didn't have a job or anything except for helping out with yardwork at my Grandma's and things like that.

I've got some acrylic risers ordered for the mail aways and will post an updated pic of how they look. I'm hoping to have Oscar make me a couple more cases sometime next month depending on how funds look after the Christmas shopping is done.

Today I received some 3 tier shelves that I ordered about a month ago for my mailaway shelf. Here is an updated pic. It really makes me want to have Oscar finish the rest of the cases, but I've got to order them as I can afford them.
