Are all ESB Kenner 31 Backs rarer than other Kenner ESB's?

I don't believe so. I am no Kenner Expert but I know for example an offerless 48 back 4LOM is v rare ie maybe 4 exist! I am not sure that any 31 back is rarer than that. I think even the small head Han exists in bigger numbers, but as said I don't know for sure.

Someone did recently post threads regarding 31, 41, and so on rarities on RS so that will tell you plenty.

One thing I always wanted to know about 31 backs, I have only ever seen clean front 31s, never examples with offers on the front?! So when I see 'Brian's Toys' selling an Offerless 31 Power Droid for over $2000 I think..they are all offerless arent they :roll: (lack of knowledge being displayed I suppose ) I did collect the first 10 Empire figures on 31 backs and never found any with offers on, that was one of the reasons I loved the 31s, pure clean fronts!
I know the 'secret figure' offer on SW and Empire 21 backs-(secret figure being Bossk). So what was the offer on a 31 back? Any help or pics would be appreciated!

I was thinking the 31 backs must have had a limited run in 1980 as the 32 backs came in.........

I think CCrh explained it well. Kenner may have wanted to hold back the release of Yoda until the ESB movie actually hit the Cinema. Possibly the original wave of 31 Backs were on the Store shelves before the release of The Empire Strikes Back. I could be wrong tho.

That is exactly why they did it. It's not a perhaps it's a fact! They wanted the audience to get the full impact in the cinema

I would have to agree that quite a lot of 48 a offerless ESB mocs are pretty tough to locate. 4 lom is recognised as the toughest but there are others that are also pretty hard to find. Removable limbs c3po and r2d2 sensorscope as well as the black bespin guard.

Some of the SW characters are quite hard to find on 31-backs. With the exception of Bossk, all the ESB characters are pretty easy. Prices may be higher than other ESBs though because they are debut cards for the ten ESB characters and offerless (Survival kit sticker offer exists but are super rare).

In general I think the offerless 48-backs are the rarest ESB cards followed by the 31 and 32-backs.
