Any of you in to football?
Be it the local team, the premiership, or your international side, its all the same as a fan; You continue to believe and support your team, follow them and think "This time, this time, they'll win, i know it".

Yeah, i definitely don't do that. I know better. I support Spurs and England. I know how both will do and that's how i feel they'll do. Can't really escape it.
Do i think Spurs will win the league in my life-time? nope. Do i think they'll finish in the top 4 next season? Nope. Will England win the world cup in the next 30 years? nope.

But you still follow the hype, you'll still be interested and you'll still watch.

I'll see you on the day its released Pete, i'll be stood next to my son at the front of the cue with a big box of Star Wars popcorn. We'll both be wearing recently purchased Star Wars boxers i'm sure.

EDIT: When i say we'll be wearing Star Wars Boxers, i meant to infer that of course the Disney marketing machine will be drumming up hype with almost everything available to buy with the Star Wars logo; there will be Star Wars socks, trousers, belts, ties, hats for sale etc. We will be wearing others clothes

Oh and i forgot to say, its Christmas! Star Wars will be hyped to the max!

You're totally missing my point/s. I have at no point said the new ones won't be hotly anticipated by me and everyone else. 8)

Also- "We'll both be wearing recently purchased Star Wars boxers i'm sure" Sorry, exactly what is going on in this scenario?? :?

We always knew the prequels would be made by the episode 4-6 titles

We knew it was possible but we didn't know for sure. There was absolutely no confirmation o that till just before the prequels.

Aye. It was always talked about, it was also cheap filler for tabloids. I can't remember when I totally gave up on it, I reckon it was sometime in the early-mid 80s, Id stopped the fan club subscription, I no longer got any pleasure from Return of the Jedi comic.. Back to the future, Ghostbusters, Alien, Terminator, and those type of movies soon made me realise that there were some great films out there.

Without the internet, and with booze, uni, working etc, aside from some vintage toys that I always kept with me (in a small white box (which I still have)) as I moved around the country, star wars was just a nice childhood memory. I didnt pay much attention to the EU stuff, to me that was as bad as those marvel comics stories about giant rabbits and Han Solo wannabees.

I remember being really angry with the film Willow.. because I thought if Lucas was going to piss around with other films, why not just make another star wars movie.

I like the football analogies as its true. No matter how **** star wars might be, i will still go and watch it. I think Ive seen it all. I even once watched the two ewok movies.. and I went to the cinema to watch the clone wars movie. I'm really stoked for the new movies.

Episode 1 was just a blessed relief that star wars wasn't dead, I still maintain it has good in it, even though its overall story is quite good, its just really poorly delivered. I guess its like Spurs winning the league cup under George Graham.

This Hobbit Looking Jar Jar puppet concerns me.......

I'm ok with it as I'm imagining that it'll be way in the background and not seen that close up.

If it's Han's new co-pilot or Han and Leia's marriage councillor, then we're all in trouble.

What the **** is that ****!

Looks a lot like old Jar Jar Binks to me ...of hang on, just worked out what i'm looking at. Remind me of that junk pile goblin thing in Labyrnth. Still looks like old Jar Jar though :|

We will of course be wearing clothes  You my man have a more warped mind than me, but probably not Todd

Can you remember how crazy it was back in 1999?

Its been 15 years since Episode 1 dominated toys, games, food, soap, alarm clocks etc......

And now we have Episode VII.

Will it be as crazy again?

Episode I was the most hyped film ever.

Will fans be still be burnt from the prequels or will new media's drive the insanity even higher

Which will be more insane?

As our planet gets more insane so will the fandom.
This will be bigger FACT. There is no guarantee that anything i say is factually accurate, the chances are i'm talking b##locks

This thing is ****ing rad.

Reminds me of Jim Henson stuff.

Obviously chosen to show fans that the techniques will reflect the puppetry of the OT and not the CGI of the PT.

Totally Agree, atleast is a tangible puppet and not some shat CGI bollox.

I doubt he will be a main character (pure speculation), no worse than any of the original back ground characters like Yak Face or Amanaman.

Absolutely agree. This is a great sign. Also, obviously not a main character. Just background or possibly a one liner.

Good to see an actual puppet on set, as far as the hype i'm sure it will be massive, but i'm not sure there will be as much merchandise as when phantom came out, couple of companys got burned and dk books nearly went bankrupt they had so much invested in the movie which didn't turn into actual book sales.
Toywise i'm sure we will see lots of stuff, sneak preview figures etc

Do you know what, considering the unbelievable hype and anticipation already, im thinking its highly possible that EPVII will be bigger. Its all over the news everyday.

I think the fan access through the social media will be a game changer this time round.

I notice the World of Warcraft movie has moved its release date by 3 months.
