Ok everyone, the year is almost over, how was it collecting wise for you.
The link to last year is at the top of this thread for those that can remember what they said.

2022 Goals:
Leia Bespin and Poncho Tri Logo No Yes
Luke Jedi Tri Logo Yes
Han Bespin Tri Logo Yes
Luke Jedi on a Palitoy card Yes (All be it a reseal)
Han 12/20 back Kenner No
DSC 12/20 back Palitoy. Yes and a Palitoy too, one of my favourite pick ups this year.


2023 Goals:
Oh to complete the 12/20 cards (Han Greedo and Snag)
Leia Bespin Tri Logo.
DSD Tri Logo..Unlikely!
Ugnaught Tri Logo
R5D4 Tri Logo

Again other than the DSD all should be achievable…we will see.

My goals for 2022 were as follows:

1. Getting to more events and being an active part of this wonderful community we have.
Yes - attended Echo Live, Farthest From, and a few local toy fairs and comic cons.
2. A vintage British store display piece.
Yes - Acamas posters display bin header, and display box for the large Thomas Salter transfers.
3. A vintage cast & crew item.
Yes - Yellow McQuarrie art 1976 t-shirt, acquired from Willard Huyck.
4. A vintage British cinema item.
Yes - Unused window sticker from Jedi, and envelope with tickets for a January 1978 screening of SW.
5. The Helix 10 fibre tip pens set.
No - still looking!
6. Finish my Frankel & Roth, Letraset transfers and Acamas masks / costume runs.
No, but close on all 3 counts. I need one more F&R bag, 3 more bagged transfer sets, and a Leia mask.

These are my collecting highlights from this year:

I'm going to vary my list just a little bit for 2023:

1. A vintage British store display piece
2. A vintage British cinema piece
3. A vintage cast & crew or production item
4. A significant Palitoy piece
5. A vintage SW mirror - either with the droids and the SW logo, or with artwork from the Fascal stickers.
6. An item that I never knew existed.

I always love these threads. It's great to see what people have planned and what they've achieved.

My goals for 2023 are:
1) attend a live event. Not been to one since 2002!
Am planning on attending Echo Live in Feb.
2) Add a new Rebel Soldier cardback to my focus run
3) Pick up some interesting foreign adverts that i don't have
4) Pick up some more foreign instruction sheets

1) Acquire a 12 back or 2
2) Find the remaining 20 back power Droid
3) Pick up 17 tri logo that I need to complete the set ( 7 I think)

Had a mixed year- got a superb open bubble 12-bk Palitoy Vader that I put back together, after looking for ages. 3 turned up within a couple of weeks- bought the first one and was slightly naive with a swap deal and lost out quite badly. However, a much better one turned up a few days later and I have now completed my first 20 Palitoy run.

Also got a nice, unused Vader's TIE model kit.

No luck on the other stuff- can't believe how hard it is to find a Force lightsaber!

Firstly, I'd like to rekindle my love of the hobby. Been a tough year, especially the last few months, so I've lost all interest. I know it will come back- the nostalgia, emotion etc tied up in my collection is too much to be denied!

I know it's not SW, but would like to complete my Action Force Series 1 MOC run. Still need Mission Pilot, Arctic Assault, Mountain and Arctic, Naval Assault, US Paratrooper. Would be happy with good reseals.

I didn't have any 2022 goal as such, apart from wanting to build on my LXW focus a bit and find a VCJ at a charity shop lol.
That said, I managed to acquire a couple of significant pieces this year which i'm delighted with.

2022 Acquisitions
45C LXW MOC - Absolutely chuffed to bits with this, purchased from Palitoy Junky. Only a small handful known to exist.
LXW Cardbacks:
Canadian ESB 21Bk LXW - Totally made up with this, gifted to me by The Guilty One. I never knew this existed, no trace on SWTracker.
German 45 Bk LXW - Another one i'm delighted with. Purchased on either facebook or ebay. No known MOC examples on SW Tracker.
Palitoy 30 Bk - To replace one i had and sold ages ago. Not as nice as my old one but a nice shelf filler.
BTT:
A couple of nice Helix pieces to go in my collection, purchased from Craig Spivey and someone on Facebook.

Purchased in 2022 but maybe not here until 2023 as its stuck at customs apparently!
Harbert LXW Cardback - I've only ever known of one reseal to be up for sale about 5 years ago which was apx £2500. I've never seen a cardback on its own for sale, so had to jump on it! Looking forward to getting that on display. The rarest of all Harberts.

I had a little bit of success, picking up a Lili Ledy Klaatu early in the year, and a PBP Fat Lips Bossk in December. It's head has been glued on but you'd never know to look at it.

Damn this came around quick last years goals:

3) Unused contents AT-ST to put in the box I picked up this year
4) 12 Back Luke (getting less and less likely due to prices)
5) A Palitoy ROTJ Rebel Commander, Rebel Soldier or Ben Kenobi

I managed #3 and one from #5 (Palitoy Rebel Commander.) So 2 out of 5 isn't terrible. But it was a very slow year vintage wise, I hardly bought anything.

My goals for 2023:

1) Nikto 70C Trilogo
2) Boba Fett baggie
3) A Palitoy ROTJ Rebel Soldier, Ben Kenobi or FX-7
4) Kenner 12 Back Luke
5) Bandai first print Super Star Wars for SNES (sealed)

Noticed there is still value in the boxed items so will be looking to add some of them. My 2022 list is,

Any figure I don't have MOC.
Darth Vaders Tie-Fighter boxed & complete.
Star Wars Tie-Fighter boxed and complete.
Mini Rigs, MIB Cap-2 and ISP-6.
Jabba The Hutt, MIB. This one is already done but still waiting for it to arrive. May have been back door'ed???

Didn't get either Tie-Fighter but did get both mini rigs and the Jabba the Hutt turned up. Can't believe how well I've done with the MOC run. Managed to get Yoda, Lando General, FX-7 and White Bespin Security Guard all on debut cards. Also R2 Pop up Sensorscope on a Jedi card and C-3PO RL on Jedi 65-A. Down to 14 MOC to complete the character run. If I told you the ones I need after 23 years of collecting MOCs most of you would role around with laughter.

Next year my aim is to get 5 of the 14 I need, plus an ESB stormtrooper.

2) Luke Farm boy (upgrade required)
3) R2-D2 solid dome (upgrade required)

Got the upgrades which i'm happy with, but still need that R2.

My 2023 goals:
Going to explore the selling/dealing side of the hobby with a look at setting up a stall for Stafford or NEC.
Will still be after the R2D2 Pop Up and would love to finally display the collection in one of Drew's Collector Displays

2023 I want to expand my premiere or advance screening ticket collection and upgrade a few of my other autographed photos i have. a
