Part 2.....

We all have our fair share of crappy times, but as you get older, you tend to take stock and reflect a little, and sometimes maybe wish you had done things differently, having lost the benefit of the exuberance of youth ( there is no choice in that..we all age  ) I have come to the conclusion that only you can change things and that has to start with an outlook.

I spent years looking at things from a narrowed perspective, usually with me as the one that crap things happen to, and asking why can't I have a break, I've changed all of that, I havnt found religion, or a secret society, or some miracle of a blinding light, just a bit of common sense, ( and of course the best family and wife I could ever have dreamed of)

Anyway as some of you know I like to put things down in words, and felt in a bit of a reflective mood, there is always someone worse of than you is a very well used phrase, but you know what ...it's so true :!:

Anyway, a few words below, if you like it then its been worthwhile sharing, if you don't then you can label me as a knob :!: up to you

Still full of youth in your minds eye,
To sustain that mirage, hard you will try,
But the years take their toll sad but true,
All becomes task, that once came easy to you.
But with age comes a bonus, an outlook mature,
Shiny new things don't quite have that same allure,
You begin to take stock and open your eyes,
To what is important you soon realise.

While the world around you earns its label ...rat race,
People and things change at phenomenal pace.
Take a breath, sit a while take thoughtful repast
"I could have, I should have" .. you have to look past
Don't sit in debate with disappointment and regret,
Or the true riches of life you will pass an forget.
Realise the things that you have maybe taken for granted,
Then the seeds of contentment you have truly planted.
Appreciate life, and what you can savour,
Don't suffer misery or entreat feckless favour.
Aim for the best in all that you do,
With your conscience and feelings always be true.
Be honest of word, and thoughtful in deed,
Don't judge on appearance, on caste or on creed.
Take a chance that things, maybe will turn out alright,
Be ever the optimist, does it work? Well it just might!
Better what could be, than "oh how I wish"
A possible banquet, outweighs gruel in a dish.

We all have a journey to three score and ten,
No telling whats in store, should you wait, it may be too late by then.
Family, around you a roof over your head,
Healthy and happy sleep sound in your bed.
These are true riches, sat under your nose,
Always a constant, whatever wind blows.
Take heed of these words, I've found them to be true,
Pass them on to all who'll listen, well maybe that's you.

Are you Pam Ayres?

If I be Pam Ayres,
I'd get funny stares,
With me stubble, Adam's apple an tash.
I think her works great,
I'm a novice to date,
But I wouldn't mind her success and her cash :D
