EBAY SELLER albob67 - BAD EBAY ETHICS!!



the link above is for the item in question...

as you can see it is a lili ledy cloud car pilot (that checks out and is correct). some paint rub.. (listed yes) and STIFF LIMBS.... this is where the problems begin...
i always clean my figures before they get into my collection, so i cleaned it and notices a fray of cotton thread poking out from one of the shoulder joints, so i thought ill get that out. I pulled it out but had to unwind it from around the joint! i unwound it completely to find what was a STIFF LIMB was now a very LOOSE limb!!
I inspected all the other joints to find this unsavoury little fix done to both legs aswell!! i left the cotton in with the legs and thought id contact the seller on this...

bearing in mind i have bought an R5-D4 iff him before and gave him positive feedback, i thought this guy must be sound...


i emailed him this...

hi, recieved the cloud car pilot today...
i spotted that cotton has been tightly wrapped around the limb joints as a D.I.Y. botch job to make the limbs tight again. so basically its a loose limbed figure with a cotton repair to stiffen up the limbs.

this was not stated in the listing and I definatly do not want to have a botched figure for Ã'£16!

im not blaming you for this - you may have got it in this condition and not realised.

anyways i would like to have a full refund including postage (Ã'£18) since its not quite the item described in your listing.

what i mean is that this figure had loose limbs and some one has wound cotton around the limb joins to stiffen up the limbs so they are not loose anymore.
thats why i want a refund.

if you leave me a negative i will report you to ebay as all i have done is to try to resolve this situation with you pleasantly.
if you read my email properly u will see i am NOT blaming you for this tampering. (these things can be easy to miss if you buy bulk lots etc)
Since you have a 7 day return and refund policy on your listing i will be taking up that offer and returning it recorded delivery for a refund.
if you do not accept this i will be forced to contact ebay about this as you would be in breach of their listing terms.

AS you can see i NEVER actually blamed him for the tampered joints i said to him he could well have picked them up in a bulk lot he grabbed from somewhere and listed it on ebay without a proper check. The cotton was well tucked in and i think i disturbed it with a wet toothbrush while i was cleaning it.


As you can see in short

1 he wont take responsibility for the tampering (whether he did it or aquired it like it)
2 he REFUSES to refund me
3 he THREATENS to leave ME a negative IF i give him his WELL DESERVED NEGATIVE.
4 he says im BANNED FROM HIS AUCTION LISTINGS!!! can you believe that!!! thats funny since i wouldn't EVER bid off him again for being treated so badly!!!
yes he has good feedback... but i wonder how many others may have given in when threatened with neg feedback in return.
Im going to leave him a NEG anyways even if he want to give me one back in return...

Anyone got a good response i could write back if he leaves me a negative in return?????


He ignored my last reply to add to the story.

it now looks like the only way i can deal with this idiot is with a paypal dispute.

My advise is stay clear!!!!!!!!

this post is in IOP and RS also so as many peeps can avoid this idiot!

in my opinion people who reply so violently like that are guilty as hell. what a jerk!! i dont think ebay will take kindly to people threatening with neg feedback if you do the same. i would report to ebay that he threatened you and see what they say. thanks for the heads up, im gonna stay well clear!!
 
Never heard of that before, certainly a neat little trick though to the unsuspecting eye

Not minding a negative feeeback for the sake of 16 quid, he must be desperate for cash
 
I had an incident with this guy last year and I decided then that I would not use him again. This incident with Gustie has just reaffirmed that :wink:
 
i did a paypal dispute i read the steps on ebay it says do that then contact ebay after


paypal correspond between users and try to remedy, if nothing is sorted i may get refunded by paypal anyways if its escalated within 20 days...

sadly this route has had to be taken

i fail to understand why you are being so unreasonable when all i am asking for is to return this item for a full refund as stated in your return policy.
you have left me no choice but to open a paypal dispute and if you do leave me negative feedback i will be contacting ebay about FEEDBACK EXTORTION on your part.
I am giving you the opportunity to let me return this item for a full refund else i will continue to leave it in the hands of Paypal.

Nicely worded there Gustie, this guy certainly has an attitude problem when one of his listings is incorrectly described to force a sale. I shall stay clear of him and thanks for the heads up mate. I hope that paypal decide the dispute in your favour and from all the emails he sent you, i think you wil be alright in this matter. Good luck mate.

According to the returns policy on your listing I don't need to have a reason to return this figure.
The fact that it has cotton wrapped around its limb joints is completely irrelavant.

I would like to return this figure for a refund and that is all. You are breaching the ebay terms and conditions for not letting me return this item when you have stated that I can in your listing. Is it really worth getting yourself into trouble with ebay over when this could be so easily resolved.
 
Send him links to this site and RS with the threads about him to show him you are prepared to inform other collectors about him.

As you are mainly a buyer on ebay and he is mainly a seller I would give him a negative as it always looks worse to other potential customers of his. :wink:
 
That guy's being a real jerk. Surely ebay would side with you if you kept all the correspondence and delete any neg he left you. I've heard that they can't remove negatives - but surely thats bollocks if you can prove its unjustified.
 
indeed feedback extortion is how ebay put it... that can loose peeps thier poweruser title etc gunna read up a bit more on the matter

what would you do?

This guy blatently said if i negged him he would do a neg in return (FEEDBACK EXTORTION)
