Hi guys.

Ive had a person from Italy win 2 of my Lego items on ebay. They have now contacted me and said that their son had bid on all the items and that they dont want them so could I cancel the sale. My question is what do I do??

Im inclined to tell them that sales are final but they prob wont pay anyway.

How do I cancel a transaction with them?? Or do I just offer a second chance offer to the next bidder?? Can I get my fees back??

Been on ebay for years but advice needed??

Chris

That old chestnut eh !

You want to make sure that they cancel their bids - otherwise you will be charged the fees if you do it. I would suggest that you advise them to do it - and if they don't, open a non-payment case against them - at least that way they will get a black mark against their username.

You can offer it as a 2nd chance now providing you have email confrmation from the winning bidder saying that he doesn't want them. Make sure you tell the under bidder why they are being offered the items - otherwise they will be suspicious

Yeah what Iain said. I've had this happen several times. A few times i have requested the item be cancelled. The buyer then has to accept the cancellation and you get your fees back. So that is one option. But someone earlier this month bought something and then wrote me a message right away saying "i don't want this can you cancel it please" (no apology or anything) and i took Iain's approach as it just pissed me off.

Also, remember to add him to the 'block list' on here.

I know Bram its a bloody pain in the rear end. I had a woman last month say her son had bid without her knowing on my sega mega drive but she contacted me before the auction ended.

All sorted now anyway, FVF's refunded and one has sold on second chance offer. I couldnt be bothered to do anything else as their english was crap as they were from Italy.

Will add name to block list.
