Its actually a total sale plus postage value of £27.40 and under where 80% off plus 30p is cheaper than a quid total

Thanks for that and I looked into this further and forgot that even with the £1 selling fees coupon you would still get the PP fees to pay (3.4%). Below shows you what you will pay on your sales with the 80% deal and you would still be paying less than the PP fees as it's a higher percentage -

£5 sale would be charged 2.56% FVF (0.13) + 30p = £0.43
£10 sale would be charged 2.56% FVF (£0.26) + 30p = £0.56
£50 sale would be charged 2.56% FVF (£1.28) + 30p = £1.58
£100 sale would be charged 2.56% FVF (£2.56) + 30p = £2.86
£250 sale would be charged 2.56% FVF (£6.40) + 30p = £6.70
£500 sale would be charged 2.56% FVF (£12.80) + 30p = £13.10
£1000 sale would be charged 2.56% FVF (£25.60) + 30p = £25.90


If feel like I've got my head around it now so we can see how this all plays out for eBay in the future.

I'm really surprised eBay have scrapped £1 max selling fee, assuming they have. Just encouraging sellers to use other platforms. Facebook etc.

I got one of these £1 max fee offers just 2 weeks ago - I assume they are still offered up from time to time

They do an offer roughly every fortnight, the last £1 one being Easter weekend. They have done 2 and 5 % fee offers previously but this 80% off is a new one. It remains to be seen if this is it or if the £1 comes back in a few weeks. I expect they'll be analysing the uplift of one vs the other plus actual cash in as a result and then take it from there.

I still use PayPal, will you get the same rights as a buyer through eBay as on returns or if your not happy?
