Ebay payment change again!!

Seems like a very illogical step by ebay, with the payment only coming in after it's been delivered, who wants to send anything out before being paid?? I am sure this will sway many away from ebay to look at other options.

The tax being added is not a new thing, it's been going on over in the states for some time, I got stung by it myself some time ago & was a bit of a shock to the system.

We all knew this new it's free to sell was going to be a smokescreen & now the smoke has cleared & we see the **** we are meant to deal with, bit of a farce really.

pretty sure paypal did the same scam a little while back....but quickly dropped it. the longer they hold onto the money the more interest they make on it....probably talking an average of hundred of millions or even more at any specific time.....

25 years I've been on Ebay. I joined up there together with another auction site called QXL which trailed behind Ebay and shut down eventually. It's such a shame that's it all coming to an end for me. My first purchase was a lot of 12 vintage loose Star Wars. 3 months later I pushed the boat out and bought 9 MOC Star Wars figures for £130 shipped from the US yes, those days were nuts but not as cheap as early 90s Toy shows. The sheer panic and excitement about getting those MOCs are a great memory.

However, now Ebay can suck my balls!

Devils advocate- it's only a massive issue if you are hoping for quick cash. If you're just clearing space with no immediate need for funds it's almost irrelevant (assuming their tracking links are significantly more robust than previous years)

The buyer paying fees I don't like from a massive commercial entity, but in the cold light of day, if my budget for a particular item is 2/20/200/2000, that's my budget, I probably don't care what % is a fee

so its seems like buyers fees have been added in the last couple of days without showing that they have to the buyer. maybe they will add something like they got on vinted to show but strange at the minute with lots of items having odd numbers for total prices......

I've just put something on Ebay and noticed the buyer protection fee!! Whatever next??

Hi all,

How's everyone coping with this crap since the change?

I haven't sold since the start of Feb, but wanted to see how you guys are doing?

Seling a few little bits, I didn't realise the buyer can choose postage options!! (I use royal mail on my listings) Had to piss about finding an Evri shop in town.

I haven't sold anything on ebay in a few years now, but had been thinking about it.
Reading this thread i probably won't bother.

I've also stopped buying more expensive items, as they've removed Paypal Credit as a payment option, which is a pain in the arse.

To be honest Facebook is the King nowadays.
It's have sold a few cheap bits on eBay this year and yes they kept the payment for a few days but it was no problem.

As above, I have sold a few cheap items since the changes took place. Yes they kept the money for a few days but I didn't have any real problems.
