ebay help?

about a month ago i bought a dj mixer from ebay, ive spent the last week trying to get it to work and have had no luck. its usb powered and should just pop up and start once plugged into my laptop but all i get is a red light light as if its on standby, ive checked the manual and im doing everything right but still no joy so i tried it on a friends laptop also and still no joy. i then seached google for help and found nothing on this problem, i then phoned the company who makes the product and they couldnt help either, ive emailed the seller saying i want to return the item for a refund but ive had no reply.

what should i do next? is it time to open a case?

yeah i think so mate, unless its needed specific drivers in order for the product to work, but if you rang the company they would have told you that.

is it getting enough power? is it USB 3.0 or USB 2.0

If it doesnt work then yeah open a case as long as you have given the seller enough time to respond.

its powered by usb but also has an adaptor option so i went out and bought one thinking that would be more powerful and that my laptops were too weak?

it did nothing with a 2009 macbook, nothing with a new-ish toshiba laptop running windows 8, and then with my old advent 2006 laptop it installed the drivers when pluged in, i then installed the dj programme but still nothing, its been very annoying aswell as vestax being no help at all.

i'd love it to just work as it should and it was a bargain so im not really gaining much.
