t doesn't work like that i'm afraid. I just sold a camera for 750 and the ebay fees were £75 plus another £30 from paypal.

that is terrible 105 pound fee

I'm sure that its only up to a maximum of £40. And the changes to the fees don't take effect until 21st July (ish).

Not so sure about the current or proposed fees for the technology category - maybe its different?

Paypal to me is the biggest rip off more than ebay.

Yep, agreed. I don't like the way they try to hide the fees in your account balance and double hit you with a poor exchange rates as well as exchange rate fees. Grrrr They make me mad!

That is a real piss take when they do that, i didn't even know they did it until recently. I've just bought something from the US and i always work out the exchange rate with an app on my Ipod.

Price was right so i went with it....After the paypal exchange....they had charged me nearly £40 extra :( Bastards!

The thing is they are digging thei own grave, more and more people sell on forums, and/or end listings early for a cash offer.

the vast majority of stuff is way overpriced to compensate for shitty ebay fees, they really have got greedy.

Would be great if there was a star wars only auction site out there - or even a vintage toy auction site where fees were reasonable - geared towards collectors, not big business. Someone, anyone.... there's a business opportunity there.
