What does this have to do with SW or what makes you think the guys on here would be interested in it. Genuine question.

Granted, this is the "Off Topic" section and there have been some very random threads in here over the years, but yours looks a bit close to spam.

This is not spam. I just got so happy when I found out recently that I could use my computer and phone for helping out science, that I wanted to share it with others, especially young people, who might wanna "save" the world somehow, which they can do this way for free, and without spending any time on it. And it will most likely make them use their devices less for streaming, gaming, and/or social media, cause they'd rather leave the device running this programs instead.

Although this has existed for over 20 years, most people still don't know about it, and that's why I posted it in the "off topic" thread

At least it's not random as in useless like a random meme or whatever . Please share this, so more people learn of this possibility of doing this type of charity contribution, can't really call it work, when your device is just laying there crunching numbers at night while you sleep.
