Dealers hopped on the bandwagon that collectors wanted the elusive "U" GRADE and sent in all those yellow bubbled MOC's they had, same with baggies.

Now collectors are realizing that that is a terrible mistake for many reasons ( Takes a huge amount of this stuff out of circulation making it much harder to find the "entry level" for beginners - AFA is just not affordable to get you started and high end decent MOCS are always going to be expensive)
So to keep selling AFA pieces and win back some customers..Dealers are sending things to be graded in baggies!
I like the idea a bit better (only because the baggies have no need to be cut open and someone tell you how good the figure is) ..than a "U" but on *this* baggie it doesn't make for the most appealing display piece (Cloudy dirty looking baggie :p), having said that it will probably give it the best type of protection for the coming years!

I take it that the poor condition baggie brings the overall grade of the figure down? If so, what is the point?

That just looks plain nasty :?

Agreed! IMHO this is a classic example of a dealer trying to maximise their return on a low quality item by having the piece graded. The Fett baggie is not only distressed (cloudy etc) but the figure is also discoloured (see the lighter coloured legs). As a former baggie collector I would have passed on this piece if I when I was looking for one however the baggie type is one of the harder to find. That all said I'm still pleased to see another baggie has survived the 'U' grading epidemic!

Cheers,
Christian.

Its a £50 figure max with the discolouration and cloudy bag. I think grading this one really has done more harm than good :?

You can get good money for baggies simply by taking good photographs of either side and the seal and giving information on the baggie type and its authenticity.

I thought someone might say something about that!

FFS, you should know he's far too old for me (and obviously too male)!
