I'm coming close to completing a couple of collections I've got going but I find myself considering paying more than I would have done in the past just to get another item ticked off. The things I still need aren't that rare in the scheme of things, but I've seen only a small number since I started collecting again., so they're by no means common.

How do people hold off overpaying for those last items? I just feel impatient to get another step closer to the end ...

If its the last couple for a run, I tend to pay what it takes to complete.

I can be patiënt, just watching and waiting for the right bargain to come along.
Think i am waiting for almost a year now to find the upgrade 12back Chewbacca i need for the price i want to Pay... But i refuse to buy one at an higher price just have my set completed in the condition i want.

I do have a placefiller to be fair, so its not really missing in my set.

I'm only 4 figures away from completing my loose collection and I'm expecting to pay quite a bit to complete it. Figures needed are:

EV-9D9
Yak Face
Blue Snaggletooth
Luke Stormtrooper

I'm after decent ones of these so I know the cost will be high. Just one of those things we have to expect with vintage items I guess

you could i guess.

im patient. ive been after a particluar loose variant for 3 years now :lol: . its not rare but does demand a fair price and easy gettable for a loosey. im not in rush and it makes the hunt more fun, after long last i got one the other day and under the going rate as the ebay listing wasnt detailed enough :D

When ur coming close to completing a set, the chances are the piece or pieces ur missing are the tough ones in that set. Therefore it's prob the case that u will b paying more to get those pieces simply because;

A, if it is a tough to find piece the seller will prob know that and a premium will
b slapped on it or indeed u will b involved in a bidding war with many others
who r on the same mission :?
B, the completist in u will come out and dictate.

My ESB run was becoming expensive so I switched to the cardbacks. I had a budget and stuck to it rigidly. Just couldn't justify the cost.
