This morning, I woke up after dreaming I was at some guys house in the attic and he had loads of vintage, some MOCs and lots of loosies. I was annoyed initially tbey were all individually priced until I saw they were extremely reasonably priced and I found all ten last 17 figures I was after to complete my loose collectoon. I then found a big box of UK Star Wars marvel comics, and I remembered Lars (Pomse2001) had put a wanted for some on here, so was trying to get online on my phone to see which ones he wanted but my phone wouldnt connect, when usually I wouldnt have a problem. I actually started to suspect it was a dream then, but the figures I were holding in my hand were so tangible. I awoke pretty soon after that and was irritated that I never have awesome finds like that in real life! Anyone else have dreams that are real convincing?

I used to have a recurring dream in the 90's where I walked into some unknown toy store, and walked down an unrelated aisle to see an endcap filled with dozens upon dozens of carded figures, still at regular retail cost. I'd be loading up - and then wake up. Yeah, that was always disappointing.

I had one about a year ago, I was in a modern supermarket and found a pile of retro looking Star Wars toys that were never produced originally, boxes the same as the mini-rigs but with the Star Wars logo and the double racetrack border. On the box was a photo of 3 Stormtroopers, with the same desert/star background as the Landspeeder and X-wing. The nameplate simply said 'Stormtroopers'. I put one in my trolly but that was as far as the dream went, I never got to open it.

I find it odd that Star Wars doesn't feature in my dreams more often, I've never dreamt about the films, or found myself piloting an X-wing or hanging out with Bossk and IG-88. Yet I dream about The Walking Dead all the time, strange.

Constantly.

When I first started collecting I'd dream about finding loads that I was looking for at a carboot sale...generally just loose figures

Then as my knowledge increased the things I'd find would become ever more sophisticated. Unproduced items and then things that I'd love to have had made.

It's very frustrating when you wake up. But I've not had a dream for years.

Before I got into star wars I was into model soldier collecting and used to have the same sort of dreams

I'v had dreams lately about having vintage stuff stolen and the new film being really bad. My dreams never come true so nothing to worry about.

Yep, pretty much had that dream too!!

This is so funny- thought no one else could possibly have dreams like this! Haven't had one for a while. Usually involves meeting up with old primary school friends and asking them if they still have their old toys...

**** this happens to me too but it's usually nicola Kidman I'm dreaming about, sorta the same thing :p

YES!!!

Not recently but certainly in the 90's I used to have dreams of finding things in shops or car boot sales. Same when I was doing up my Mk2 Escort. Dreams of being in scrap yards and finding complete cars with loads of good bits, but then I would go back and the car wasn't there.

Can anyone explain why we have these dreams?

Probably as simple as the hobby is such an important part of who we are, it has entered our subconsciousness. We think about it so much, our brains don't shut it off even when we're sleeping. I believe most dreams are the brain organizing events and experiences we go through, so this would make sense. I know for me, I love my existing collection now as much as ever, but the dreams of finding things seemed to disappear as my collection got closer to completion, and the hope I'd stumble across a major find became less important.

I've had various Star Wars related dreams but none specifically involving vintage or finding vintage. I've had a few where I was actually in the Star Wars world, which were awesome.

Don't understand your reply to my post!

I go to sleep most nights thinking about Star Wars hoping I will deam it but never happens, tell me your diet and life style now. :p

All the time. The really annoying thing is that the dreams seem to incorporate real world elements so its not that unbelievable. What surprises me is that the detail is really quite complex and that I remember it as well. Normally I don't remember any dreams at all. I've often wonder if they are premonitions.
