I'm on the move. And this time I will be able to display my Star Wars colloction as it is meant to be. Hey, I might even be able to post in the limelight section for once!

So my question is this. I am very aware of DETOLF cabinet from IKEA. Looks great for my loose collection. But I have a load of boxed stuff, loose vehicles and playsets which all need displaying. Also a large bunge of graded MOCs etc

Sooo, in the same 'style' as the DETOLF (lots of glass and light), what and where are the best cabinets to display my stuff so its all musemy and cool ? :)

Ebay is a great source for display cabinets and you won't have to pay the high prices of new ones.

Just click on the nearest 1st option when making your search.

I picked up a £120 IKEA Glass display cabinet for £20 and picked up from just a few miles away. :D

I just use these from Ikea, cheap and can add as many as you like - have doors or without, glass shelves or not. Can even buy extensions to go on top to make them 1 shelf higher. Comes in a range of colours :)

Another vote for Neil here - he is a master of his craft and will be able to sort out any sort of bespoke cabinet that you are after

Wow man those cabinets are cool as fu*k. What are they called and how much were they. Id just one like the one you have in the left of the photo. 8)

They look like BILLY cases with MOREBO doors. I'd go the extra step of replacing the wood shelves with glass which IKEA sells specifically for BILLY cases. When you use one as a corner unit, it cannot have a door installed, but that's a small price to pay.

Personally I like IKEA's INREDA lights and highly recommend those.

I went with led strips, far better and so much cheaper than ikeas (mine was 11 quid to do 2 units). If you can't get to back of units then you need the regular shelves to drill through.

For the corner unit I used phone cable pins as clips to hold 2 pieces of acrylic I had cut to size. Just twist to release :)

Could use acrylic instead of doors if wanting to keep the price much lower.

Good idea Chris, I may have to invest in one of these myself.
