A figure of the Rebel soldiers from the rebel blockade runner in the opening scene of SW??

Sorry if this is a retarded question for you guys but it could be my imagination getting the better of me

Here is one from the new Vintage Collection from Hasbro

But like PGowdy said, not from the vintage line

There are at least 3 modern versions and there are quite a few vintage customs floating about too.

There were loads of figures that should have been released.

And a number that make me wonder why???

I feel a 'what 5 figures should have been released?' thread coming on!! :D

Yeah they missed a lot of stuff. Unlike Hasbro today they never went backwards to fill in stuff apart from Luke Storm

I am sure I have seen that post before but this it would be a good thread to find out the top 5 missing characters:-

Surely the likes of Wedge and Rebel Fleet Solider would be on most lists

Lol - well I bet you are too busy still taking the pictures of those miss cards you promised :D

Ok, i have a few...

First off, ever since i was a kid i always wanted them to make the coolest looking character in A New Hope-
GARINDAN

This one always seemed like a better Last 17 choice than ****ing Barada. The missing piece from Jabba's palace-
EPHANT MON

THE most glaring omission from the vintage line-
THE REBEL SOLDIER

The coolest of the 4 "pilots" was the one they chose not to make-
THE Y-WING PILOT

I always wanted them to do a variation on the original Stormtrooper. Perhaps for the ROTJ or Last 17 lines. The "orange shoulder pad" Trooper seems like a perfect design for a figure. Very cool.
ALTERNATIVE STORMTROOPER

Always seemed an obvious one to me and would have sold by the truck load back in 1983/4.
HAN STORMTROOPER

And last but not least, how about a decent ****ing Vader?!! Sorry, but i always found the original Vader to be a piss poor effort. When you think of how amazing (and movie accurate) they got the Royal Guards, it does seem like they might have had another crack at Darth for the Jedi line. Luke, Han, Leia, R2, 2PO even Lando all had more than one figure variation but not the dark lord himself. Shame.
VADER mrk 2!

Ok...

I agree with a Jedi Vader... but the obvious choice has to be removeable helmet!!

Also...

Moff Takin

Definitely rebel soldier.

Garindan maybe... but what about the cantina owner? They did the cantina, 4 cantina creatures (2 of which basically did nothing in the film) and he even got to speak

I'd have quite liked the cantina band.

A shoulder pad stormtrooper might have been cool but that could have been achieved with a pack, like the one that included the back packs and yoda's carrying thing etc.

Han trooper definitely a good one.

Surprised the never did either the ewok village Leia or more likely, Slave leia!

I think some more of Jabbas creatures would have been cool

Oola

Maybe a generic Skiff Guard

I like Barada, but would agree on Ephant Mon or Hermie Odle

There's just so many, sad to think they will never be!!

And then there's vehicle and playsets...

Yeah definitely- Removable helmet, cloth cape and a hand-held sabre. Perfect.

There were a few other Cantina characters that came to mind. The bar-tender, the "my friend doesn't like you" guy, the furry little mouse-pig guy, the band would have been cool.
Ditto Jabba's palace. The fat dancer, Oola, there was a black Skiff guy who would have been a much better choice than 2 Klaatus!!

Yeah, didn't quite get why Klaatu had a change of clothes?

They did get as far as early work on the fat dancer. I think an armless copy of some way through the prototype process exists.

In fact...

I actually love the vintage Vader, its tackiness is all part of the charm. Same goes for most of the figures, the Jedi/POTF ones are obviously far better sculpts, but you can't beat the early ones for their character IMO.

I heard a rumour that they didn't do Moff Tarkin because Peter Cushing wouldn't have a figure made of him. Had it written into his contract or something. Have they ever done a figure of Moff Tarkin?
