Hi ,

I try not to buy items on eBay but saw this tonight and got it for just over £150. I didn't vskue it at anymore than 150 but hey my valuations aren't up to much!!!

Then panic set it ( this doesn't happen when I buy here!!)

Does this look ok at that price?

In this crazy market you did OK. The sabre looks OK (was worried it was a little too dull but the EPM mark on the handle looks fine). The seller is taking liberties with calling it "MINT" though; the sticker is clearly not white.

Nice figure, though and the chrome and paint looks smashing.

and to think only a couple of years ago I picked mine up for £50 :o

And that's the vintage SW market in a nutshell. Barely movement in 20 years then nuts in 2. Selling these in the mid 90s I was getting around £40. A rise of 20% in 20 years followed 200% in 2. No wonder those that have collected without a break are a little hacked off with the changes recently.

I think you did ok...... With a little patience and hunting in forums and ebay mis listings you could of got it around the £100 mark.

It looks nice and dome and paint look good saber looks legit. So all is good bud :)

I was watching this and contemplating a bid or two at one point. It's nowhere near mint though. Also bid on a dead mint one the other day which sold for £205 in the end. I wouldn't pay those prices for either of them but if the sabre's genuine you didn't do too bad

When you think about it I'm sure I've seen Iain sell sealed MOC ones for less not so long ago it's just crazy. In some cases you've got loose last 17 going for more than MOC! :?

I've seen the sabre go for £90 and the R2 unit (missing the sabre) generally goes for £50 on ebay so do the maths.

You paid around market value - at the moment!

This figure is one of the hardest to get, and those new collectors putting together loose sets will drive the price up even further. I reckon £200 to £250 by the end of the year - after Rogue One hits...

You may be right there Mark but it doesn't make it right. £90 for the saber!? If I could find a really clean one with a nice sticker for £50 I'd buy it, cut a match in half and stick that in the hole!.. and I'm not joking. You make a good point though, with a few figures - Imp Gunner, R2 pop up, Luke Stormy, Leia Organa etc a lot of the money is in the weapon now. Sad but true.

Picked up mine for £27 off ebay late last year but its had to have a new decal and the sabre isn't original. You get what you pay for I suppose. I was happy buying mine knowing it wasn't original as I wasn't prepared to pay the £100 for a real one :o
