Death Star Droid

I have a MIM squidhead taken from a card, never moved his limbs.

2 days ago I wanted to take some pictures for him for another thread and moved his arms which were resting on his cape at his side, they were both STUCK to his cape! and have left some kind of weird mark there, maybe it was heat or the plastics reacting from being in the bubble but I have noticed that fuzzy cloaks, capes can sometimes **** up on you even when you don't do anything to them!

You know the funny thing is in 30 years the only things that will have lasted are those god damn bootlegs!

Those ****ing bootlegs will survive a bloody nuclear war!

And beautiful DSD, one of the best I've seen! 8)

Who here has the best Death Star Droid?

I am still trying to track one down that even comes close to a c7 with good paint, it seems you either have good paint and a figure that has rag doll limbs or the other way round!

Mine is a bit of both , it can just about stand but has some paint issues AND the silver is sort of flaking off in places..wow sometimes collecting loose figures really sucks

Joe I had a carded 85 of the DS Droid and it had flaky paint and it still had a figure sub of 85. Its totally common for DS Droids. I think there are a few 90s out there but I have never seen one i dont think.

Grant.

This year I have noticed far more than any other time collecting that figures seem to be rather crap , even the ones that were good are starting to breakdown and look like a sack of ****..is this the beginning of the end? Or am I just too cheap to buy mint figures

I know what you mean Joe. My first DSD had both bad limbs, and bad paint. I ended up settling on this one which has pretty good paint. The legs are stiff, but the arms are still a little loose.

That looks pretty good Shawn! I think loose limbs are the way forward , at least if you can get it to stand up then its not so much an issue on his arms. Great DSD :)

I tend to be disappointed every time I get my figures out. But it has to stop somewhere.

I agree , you have to draw a line and look passed certain defects otherwise you just upgrade after upgrade.

And be disappointed again, because the upgrade will be flawed too in some (different) small way.

Make sure you buy figures that only have flaws on the back!

Seriously I can let most things go if its the only flaw on a figure but DSD is just a real tough figure to get close to anything worth displaying.

I think this is the best example I have ever seen for a DSD.

Joe stop being a cheap ass buyer  get on to beans on toast like the rest of us...

We could all just pretend he doesn't exists therefore we don't need one ? Much like what I have decided to do with the rebo band

You can't ignore the Rebo Band. Someone has to play Laptinek for Jabba and the gang.

My figures will be exclusively listening to ANYTHING other than the Rebo band, and they will not moan about it ;)
