Customs Fees

Yeah, that's the temptation. You see something you don't see over here, or at least that doesn't pop up very often, and you think you'll bid on it. Then the government decides to take a bit more of your dosh and suddenly your purchase looks a wee tad more expensive!

Yeah I seem to have been stung alot the last couple of months.

And that handling fee is the most annoying... :x

I always ask the seller if he is willing (at my risk) to mark the value down so i dont get charged, some sellers dont mind, some do which is understandable.

The handling fee is a total rip off, really..legally thaey cant pay something on your behalf without your permission then hold onto your property which you have paid for until you pay their fee's. but nobody can be bothered to scrimp over £12/£8 and thats how they get away with it.

customs is just a load of bollocks, another way for the government to line their pockets for a third home and some porn movies on us!!!

Totally agree, customs charges are soo wrong!

I have a couple of items coming from America shortly (fingers crossed) and hopefully they'll pass through customs without any hassle but if i do get stung i shall have go at claiming back the money!

I remember having this conversation with someone, possibly Inzi, and he seemed to think you needed to be VAT registered.

You can argue the fact that you did not give them permission to charge a handling fee but i dont think you can claim back customs fees, they are the governments way of taking your pants down and shafting you for getting stuff cheaper from abroad

Gordon would never shaft us! He does't even like taking money off us, in fact he wants us all to keep as much of our money as possible, hence we pay so few and so small taxes!

It's probably worse at the moment because of the economy, they're trying to get all the cash they can
