Bloody pain in the arse !!

Anyone know what the score with these are in terms of value. Have just recieved a note from Parcelforce saying I owe them £64.00 for a package that was posted from Canada. It cost about $400.00 all in inc $45.00 carriage, so that works out about £228.00. The £64.00 (obviously less the £8.00 handling charge) does seem a bit steep - anyone know if this is right or not ?

Cheers
Iain

if its over £120 you also get charged Import Duty im afraid, this is seperate to VAT and you will also have got charged £12 from Parcelfarce as its value is higher.

So the £64.00 sounds about right then - bloody daylight robbery in my book but hey least I pciked up some great items.

Cheers

Yeah i can imagine its about right (or wrong in a sense)

Its a total farce really and id rather take the risk of it being undervalued than give those shits a 30% cut of it.

w@nkers they are. :)

 i was just sitting here thinking that my little backward country was great when i got a parcel in the door, that i had to fork out €24.86 for .??

this has never happened in ireland but the package contents from the U.S. were only worth $52 but i think they may have been marked up in value?? :? ?

so there goes my run of good luck on no custom charges.

damn it .
