I'm watching a Ledy Leia Bespin on ebay at the moment. It states in the blurb, that the figure has a China COO.
That instantly doesn't seem right.................................or does it?
This part of the hobby, I'm still learning. Surely the COO wouldn't be China on a Ledy figure?

Same as Lando- China COO is correct

In short:

Lili Ledy had only copies (maybe even the real) "steelmolds" from the Asian factories.

So you will find all kind of "country" stamps on LL figures: No Coo, China, HK.

The Exception are the handfull of figures that also appeared on MIM cards in the US. These all have unique and exclusive molds and coos! All have no country stamp, btw...non does say: "Made in Mexico"

In addition:

That means you can find every LL figure (besides the MIM ones) also as Kenner variant with the same leg markings! Thats why there is so many figures on ebay falsly advertised as LL!
So if you want to start collecting LL you should your homewrok first or always ask around for help. ;)
Otherwise I am afraid you will be cheated many times :(

So how do you tell a loose ledy figure from a regular kenner figure, if they used the same moulds and had the same COO's?

Hi Neil if you have problems ID the Leia Bespin figure then use this link, I think it will help you a lot, good luck with the hunt mate

I think the difference is the colors they used. For example I got a Zuckuss that I thought was Ledy (shares the same coo) but it turned out not to be a Ledy  and how this was known is the subtle differences in the colors. Here is a link to my post for further explanation.

@jackabina...use the link posted above from TIG, it has to be the most comprehensive Ledy guide on the net.

Cheers all you guys. The whole Ledy thing is just a bit of a con I think. This episode has de-valued the few ledy figures I have :(

LL used slightly different plastics and also the paintshemes are different as well as some colors.
The problem mostly is that you cant determine exactly a color sheme to LL because the quality control on LL was not like we are used to it compared to the Asian factories.
That means that there can be very different colors used on LL figures. For a little inside have a look on my guide about variants on LL figures:

If you want to check if yours are LL or Kenner I would suggest you to check the link Pomse gave you. It is the best resource out there.

Hope I could help a bit
