Confused and need advice

This is exactly why I'm not going for a complete run of any one card, there's something that f's up every single one. I'll stick with my Kay Bee sticker fetish

It wouldn't surprise me if Carl (the seller) had spent close to his asking price on it because of the clear bubble.

He was doing a clear bubble ROTJ run and in 2015/2016- that's not going to be easy or cheap! I can't guarantee he paid £300 for it but I would imagine it was close.

Is it overpriced for an ERG? Most definitely..is it overpriced for a 100% clear bubble ERG when most are piss yellow? Well, that's not my place to say

It was one of this that use to get under my skin with the excuse that it's ok to open beater MOCs.

But it's fun when some rare Kenner Jedi MOC lands in your lap for £100 (or maybe £300 :? ) that has been overlooked.

I'm sure there is an ERG collector on here that would know.

Good luck with the Kay-Bee sticker :) ..........What's the Kay-Bee sticker?

**** me  £650? Already?? For an ERG?!

I've lost count of the times I've thought the SW market has completely lost it. This is a new pinnacle, surely?

At least the seller has got it right when they've said "won't last long". Nope, you're absolutely right: keep it too hot or two cold, too light or too dark, let the cat in the room or don't or any other of the countless unknown variables and you'll have a lovely tint or yellow appearing on your £650 ERG MOC sometime in the future.

I'm not worried. It's a type of collecting that is alien to me. I would far rather spend £300 on a trilogo erg that has been squished and a little rough around the edges than a Rotj erg with a clear bubble. I get that some are harder to get than others but because I am not being that completionist I'm not too worried. For example, I have a 79 back. It's "only" an 8d8 (sorry joe ;) ) but I'm quite happy just to have one. So far the only ones that I can't easily get for a reasonable price are foreign Mocs. Even then, I have still managed to bag a few.

Seen a lot of this clear bubble snobbery going on lately. Seems daft to me, 200 quid extra for a clear bubble!? I know scarcity can set prices but that's ridiculous. I don't like them dark orange like Paddys piss after a night on the sauce but a yellow tint don't bother me, adds to the character :)

The bubble isn't even clear anymore! You'd think somebody willing to pay £650 for a clear bubble would have a quick look at the photos. Bubble seal has yellowed since grading.

You're absolutely correct! I hadn't even looked at that. So this £650 MOC is already worth £65

And yet again I get the chance to highlight the twats that collect AFA stuff - they would prefer a graded MOC with a yellow bubble and a sticker saying it is clear, than an ungraded MOC that actually has a clear bubble. Unbelievable.

Joe nailed it. Carl is one of my closest friends in the hobby, but his prices for these clear bubble MOCs are out of control. I have told him so myself. Not sure he paid what he is asking and likely paid less (but not like 1/3 or 1/2 less or anything of the sort), but several of these have been sold by him not too far from his asking price. With all the clear bubbles turning yellow over time (just ask Darren Mcaleese what happened to all his clear bubble MOCs), I think paying up these high prices (5X or more of the value of a similar example with slightly yellow bubble) for them is like chasing fool's gold. A modest premium is ok, but not these prices.

But they are selling....
