Okay, this may live in the valuation section but its not my item and I think the price being asked is f-ing ridiculous but am prepared to stand corrected.

On the Yavin 4 FB group there is an admittedly nice, clear bubbled and unpunched, not graded ERG 65 back Emperor offer Kenner MOC for sale. Now I have these down as £60-80 cards and say maybe a ton for this one as it is nice but the guy is asking £300.

Am I missing something or is this just stupid?

looks like a common offer card to me

debut card the 65back.... but way over priced imo.

maybe the 65s are scarecer than the 77s? still ....£80 with the clear bubble

I got nothing.
But that's why I've not bought anything in over a month.
Prices of some things baffle me.

I was going to say it's the AFA affect, but I now see that it isn't even graded...
I'd say (depending on how badly someone wanted a clear bubble) £100 - Also taking into account the hanger damage. As nice as clear bubbles are I think they're a ticking time bomb to start turning yellow.

Overpriced for sure Evan though debut card. What would Iian sell this for?

Only thing that worries me is if this was graded, everyone would except the price.

I would probably consider £80.

Seemingly a very common moc that is way overpriced, BUT there is a reason that this thing is as high as it is.

It is a common enough moc but an absolute pig to try to find with a clear bubble. Now I'm not saying the price is right on this as I'm not sure, but the inflated price is down to the desire to have clear bubble cards. Not something I would go nuts for but some do, just as unpunched cards attract a premium in some eyes.

£300 for an ERG is a bargain next to the 65 back Emperor for £550 I saw yesterday. The seller of the Emperor (a bloody nice bloke, it has to be said) does have some very, very nice, crystal clear, ROTJ MOCs but the prices are eye watering.

Hard to find with crystal clear bubbles or not, I think the prices are a long way OTT. However, there are folk out there who pay this money and, as such, it's hard to argue that the sellers are overcharging as if they were then no one would buy it. Value is truly in the eye of the beholder.

With these crystal clear bubbles, however, are you not just buying a time bomb? Give it 12 months and not the exact correct environmental conditions and you've got yourself a £55 MOC as oppose to £550 one.

Combine the crazy current market with those chasing clear bubble ROTJ you get even crazier prices. I think ERG, Emporer etc. are tougher to find clear- regardless the asking price is nuts.

Looks like one of the ones from my ERG focus. If so I went for about £35 a couple of years ago.

I saw an ERG AFA85, think it was a 77 back, for over £1k the other day. Didn't sell

Think I saw an Emperor AFA 80 at £800 or so, madness.

I think the clear bubble is attractive, but I don't think it should triple the price. It's not the easiest to find but why not wait for a Palitoy one? More chance of a clear bubble with Palitoy 65 backs, and more chance of it staying clear.

I get it's hard to be patient sometime, but it's not like this the ERG will ever be rare, even with a clear bubble.

I saw this yesterday and thought what the ****!? 300 quid. I bought a really nice one off FB a while back for 90, bubble is slightly yellow but it's well clean. Also saw the ridiculous Emperor, Luke Jedi and something else way overpriced. I do find FB groups quite strange. The photos are usually crap, there's no detail about condition and prices are all over the place, mostly too high. Lots of incomplete beaters changing hands. Other day I questioned someone in a swap shop thing, was valueing his green card POTF2 mocs at £10 each, it didn't go down well :?

It's Facebook pal what do u expect :!:

Big bucks changing hands and not much great vintage knowledge is the score with Facebook my friend :!:

I could understand these £550 price tags for common Jedi MOCs if they r graded AFA/UKG 90 as the grade is pretty rare but being ungraded or an average grade is a joke :?

I also wouldn't underestimate the rarity of 65C Kenner.

Some are super hard to come by, and only those that chase them will know the difference.

I don't know about the ERG, but some hard to get and with a clear bubble. Could be ultimate mix. :?

Sorry mate. I'm not be sarcastic at all.

There are legit Kenner 65C's that are quite rare. People dismiss them because they are ROTJ.

I was thinking about doing a run of them, but the yellow bubbles put me off.

For example, I have only seen 3 TIE Pilots come up for sale in 2 years (1 was in the last 2-3 weeks). Obviously that's no super rare, but considering what it is.

its quite surprising how many Kenner ROTJ figures in certain backs are in low quantities. Maybe this is the case.
If I was a ERG focus collector I would be all o re this. Perhaps not £300, but you never know.

Just to add as well, I know plenty of MOC collectors that won't touch yellow bubbles MOC!s.

Just another reason why Palitoy is so popular.

Thanks Grant, you seem to have nailed it with the its only a Jedi card thought as that is precisely what I thought.
