Hi guys,

I just wondered what you guys would consider a complete loose collection excluding every single variant?

Eg. 92 plus blue snag, yak face, vc jawa, max rebo etc... ????

I wondered what everyones opinion would be and then i can draw my own conclusion.

Discuss...

Pricewise or actual figures?

Sorry I meant actual figures, eg. ifsomeone just started you would say how many figures would make a complete collection?

So not including all variants eg. luke blonde/brown/orange... but probably putting in vc jawa and blue snag.

Not sure im making sense really?

Indeed... I realise there are some that some people would put in but not others, eg. Han small head/big head etc... essentially same character and clothing , weapon just different sized heads.

Cheers

Yeh complete sense no worries tho not sure exactly how many figures there are in total.

You've got the usual 77 (I think) and then the last 17 so guessing 94! :?

But then what about Jabba, Rancor, Wampa and and the rest? Technically speaking they are figures, jus lard-arse ones! :p

In my oppinion-

Taun Tauns, Jabba, The Rebo band. Selacious Crumb, The compacter monster(is that what it's called??) etc etc etc are not part of the main line of figures. I would not count them if you are talking about a complete loose set. Those all came as part of playsets and or creature sets.
The same goes with variants. DT Luke, Orange hair Luke, Blonde hair Luke etc etc = Luke Farmboy. It's just one figure. All those other things are just words us collectors use to describe the variant. Not the figure.

Lots of collectors like to add the Rebo band, 3 legged R2, Jabba to their sets cos they're all awesome but personally i don't think you technically count them as part of the official complete "loose set".
Lots of collectors consider Ewoks (cartoon based line) and Droids (ditto) part of the set. That's a preference. I personally do not. I see them as a completely different toy line.

So in short- anything released on an MOC (SW/ESB/ROTJ & Tri) and one of each. Simples.

Blue Snag is a variable. You can argue it/him both ways.

So 92 plus VC jawa and blue snag and possibly rebo band?

97!!

Yeh well put Pete. lol, Pete everytime I say something followed by your name it always reminds me of when we were trying to think of Garbage Pail Kids names for us!! Well-Put-Pete! :p

But seriously yeah I think 92 PLUS any extras you might want meaning the VCJ & Blue Snag! :)

Edit: Posted the same time Bram! ;)

I sold all my POTF figures that I bought at 2002 prices and now I am too cheap to buy them back at 2012 prices so for me a complete set is just ...77

No not really- I love the POTF figures so I do miss them and a complete set includes them, personally I would go with all the basic figures (77+last 17) but you may want to include these variants as well:

-Blue Snag
-Trilogo Fett
-VCJ
-DT Luke

Alternatively you could get your favourite variant of each figure to save having doubles on display, like small head han instead of the big wobbly stupid head Han :)

There are some variants like orange and brown snake yodas, green and blue Luke Jedi sabers and Lando Bespin teeth and no teeth that most people get because they are kinda inexpensive but these are pretty minor ones and again if you don't want doubles just choose your fav version.

I also don't count the Rebo band, nor any of the monsters/creatures and garbage monsters but to each their own.

I think we got there!!

I love the rebo band and technically it was carded with the other figures on the back even though it may be called a box. So they're going in mine!

Its like room 101

Cheers guys!!

I count 96, excluding VCJawa, Blue Snaggletooth and Trilogo Fett, imo these are just variations, although major variations,
the price they go for is too steep for me, but I've had some Trilogo Fetts in my cabinet, and I reallyreallyreallyreally want a VCJawa :p

Got them in one way or another 77 plus last 17 or 79 plus 15!

Yep yep and yep :) I think some people are forgetting Paploo and Lumat are what bring 77 to 79 lol
