As promised, I'm doing a free competition that ties in with vectis selling off my collection. It's my way of giving something back to this great forum.

Rules are pretty straight forward.

1) It's open to anybody that is a member on here and has a post count of 100 or more. I was gonna say 100 useful posts but that kind of counts everyone out

2) No entries after midnight on 23/10 as the auction is the next day.

Prizes

First prize is a Kellerman book. It's in pretty good condition but has a few ticks next to some figures. If the winner has this book already, they can have my Meccan to tri logo book instead. If you've got both.... Tough!!!!

Second prize is a Star Wars comic with the Boba Fett mailer advert, a Palitoy Death Star catalogue ( not an Area 51 reprint) and a Kenner vader badge.

To win is pretty straight forward. Click on the vectis link that shows all my items
http://www.vectis.co.uk/Page/ViewAuctionLots.aspx?AuctionId=462&DayNo=1&Section=7232&Sub=1

It's the 4 pages that are on the link. Items 4428 - 4497 inclusive.
Simply post the total amount that you think the whole lot will sell for. It's the hammer price only, do not include any fees, commission or anything else.
The runner up will be the second closest to the amount without going over it.

Ill pay postage to the winners, but if the Kellerman goes abroad it'll be sent the cheapest way possible. Pigeon probably!

Good luck guys.

Lee

Mew,

Sad to see you leave Lee. Hoping that Episode VII trailer will get you back in.

Thanks for the competition and good luck everyone.

I'm in it for the palitoy catalogue. :)

Brilliant collection Lee and best of luck with your Auction, that would be a sight seeing all of those SW goodies together on the day.
£17,250 but I hope it goes for more.

Thanks for the comp too dude.

Sad that you are leaving buddy, but what a beautiful sight ...all that SW. Sweetness :D

I really hope you smash it out of the park and the very top end items fly in the auction, I'm going for £22,275.

Hope you get she'd loads for this and there is a bidding war :D

All the best bud

Great comp Lee!

I was going to approach answering this question one of two ways:

1) Bust out the calculator to add up those Vectis estimates and then add/subtract £ based on my personal opinion of the items real worth or what I felt they would do at auction.

2) Wait for a couple of other people to do option 1) then just shove a guess in that was similar to theirs.

In the end, option 2) won!

Based on what the other guys said, I will guess £21,295 but I wish you the best in getting even more mate, was a lovely collection - very sorry to see you have to sell it off.

Thanks guys. I was waiting for someone to kick it off. Nice one Ryan

Pete, they've done me a really good deal on the fees. It'll work out a lot less than the eBay/PayPal fees that I might have paid. Plus, they have to send it all out.

Whilst its disappointing that I've had to break it all up, it's been a few weeks now so its not as painful. I'm not leaving the hobby though, think of it as a change of focus.
I'm gonna start piecing together a loose run starting with the first 21 in a few weeks and take it from there. I'm sure anyone who's put a complete moc run together knows how stressful it gets towards the end. The last couple of weeks are the first time in a few years where I haven't been checking eBay every hour!

Enough rambling! Good luck.

Wow, really?! I thought they usually charged a minimum of 20% plus some fees. Given ebay cap fees, apparently, after £700, a lot of your items would have been less than 10%. Tho not by much. You've done well.

why does it have to be a fricking sw question
so i going to draw on all my star wars knowledge and ignore it and go for luck and after everyone elses guess go somewhere in middle£19500.......hopefully my 100 percent comp record will continue on here

£23,500. Shame anyone leaves the hobby, but I think with vintage seeming to go really high lately, its probably the best time to for sales.
