I remember reading it on the Chanel 4 showbiz teletext page, technology has certainly moved on since then.

Such a waste and never got to see him live RIP

I was a big fan back in the day. I was 16 when he died. I remember where i was and who told me. I wore a t-shirt with his face on every day for a whole month. :?
One of the most influential bands of the 20th century and Cobain was an immense talent and a true icon, arguably one of rock 'n' roll's last. RIP.

I too was a huge Nirvana fan growing up. Heard this week that the old rummour mill is convinced it wasn't suicide?
If I was poking Courtney Love, I would have too..........................................what a waste though.

Cobain died 20 years ago.

I liked Bleach, some of nevermind and then they went downhill for me. Overhyped and although arguably the most popular clearly didn't start the whole Seattle grunge scene.
They were the type of band people liked just to be cool liking an uncool band ironically.

I still have Unplugged in my CD changer in the car. Fantastic album.

Properly talented musician. You could tell my listening to his voice and the lyrics that all wasn't right in his head though. I suspect Courtney Love didn't help matters either.

Sorry to say but never seen the hype surrounding him or the band, for me Mudhoney had been plowing the same groove for years before.
Personally I think it was the voice of a disaffected generation rather than true long standing talent.
I do remember seeing groups of kids sitting around the town crying and strumming acoustic guitars to Nirvana songs, what a sight that was.

Unplugged in New York is definitely in my top 5 albums, still listen to it all the time. I think that performance shows why he (and the rest of the band) really were geniuses.
