cleaning stormtroopers

The yellowing is permanent degredation of the plastic. There has been a few attempts to 'clean' figures with strong bleach/peroxide ( & retrobrite ) with varying degrees of success. Reversing this long term damage is likely to create problems down the track ie. very brittle figures.

I'm trying the peroxide on some Snowtroopers but the results aren't that great at the moment. Interestingly some of the GI Joe collectors have done the peroxide and have reported no ill effects even after many years. So there might be some hope.

On this topic, I have had some sucess cleaning figures with the 'magic eraser' sponges - the ones used for household cleaning. Haven't tried them on yellowed limbs though.

Or one could try buying White ones... :p

edit: Or paint one like this one I found not too long ago!
