Ok so the claim has been closed in my favour for the boba fett which was basically a fake and the seller a fraud, he never responded to the dispute through paypal (as i told them all along he wouldn't). Now the only problem is that ive only received back Ã'£80 of the Ã'£200+ that i originally sent, this is what paypa/ebay have to say

'After careful review, this claim has been decided in your favour and
$175.00 USD has been credited to your account.

This is the maximum amount covered by PayPal. If your claim was for more
than the amount recovered, the outstanding balance is due from the seller
and we will make our best effort to recover it for you.'

Now the seller isnt going to send me any more money because hes no longer a registered seller on ebay and basically done a runner, how on earth are they going to recover the rest of my money???

Ineed it is, still Ã'£140 down so ive emailed paypal threatening them that if i dont receive the balance shortly then that sthe last time i will be using paypal to receive money in short. Ive also mentioned that the fact that people are able to raise the value of the item by bidding under a second name!!

They can easily refund the rest, they make that in a couple of minutes i bet!

it's happened to me several times mate, they won't do ****. they owe me a measly tenner and won't even credit that back to me themselves.

the whole ebay/paypal thing is a con really, they take no responsibility whatsoever for you money. their service should be free as it offers no insurance at all.

They should do really, if they take money from the deal then themselves are liable.

If i dont hear nothing back by tomorrow i will ring and have a moan.....always good to hurl some abuse.

yeah Jukesy, hurl some ****, chuck enough and some has to stick!

They will have to do something about it then!

ive always thought this, paypal take a percentage which if the amount sent is big, then its a big percentage of your own money. for what??????

if you have problems, they say they do there best which his bollocks. if they did theyre best you would get all your money back.

i also hate the fact that ebay recommend you to use paypal because it is a secure form of payment. so ebay take a percentage when your item sells, them paypal take another percentage when you recieve a payment. no wonder theyre one of the biggest growing businesses!!!!

Exactly and theyre part of the con as they've taken part of our money, i shall put this point across when i speak to one of there people tomorrow!

Thankfully this has never happened to me (so far) so I'm not sure what to suggest. :?

If your paypal account is linked to your credit card can't you make a claim through that?

paypal is linked to my bank account and credit card as back up funding, i don't know whether or not i can make a claim through that but thats an idea craig thanks.

Just received this response from paypal (in short means they gonna do jack and i like the $25 processing charge!!!!!) :

'Having reviewed the case I can see that the transaction was covered
under eBay's Standard Purchase Protection Programme.

eBay's Standard Purchase Protection Programme reimburses buyers for
eligible transactions where an item was purchased on eBay and either not
received or was received but significantly not as described. After the
eBay's Standard Purchase Protection claim has been resolved and if you
are eligible for a reimbursement, eBay will deduct $25 to cover
processing costs. You'll be reimbursed up to a maximum of $200 USD (less
$25 USD to cover processing costs). Multiple Item Auctions (Dutch
Auctions) are covered as a single transaction.

Please note that although the claim is closed, the dispute is noted in
the seller's account records and the seller will need to complete the
refund to you if he/she wishes to continue the use of PayPal's service.

You can also be assured that we will take appropriate action against the
seller in this case. Actions may include issuing a warning, a temporary
limitation, or terminating their account. PayPal uses a number of
factors to determine what type of action to take, including member
complaints. Due to privacy laws, we are unable to discuss the details of
any action.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Swines! I made a claim a couple of years ago after never receiving what I paid for. It was only a DVD worth a tenner, clearly the sellers fault (ebay and paypal agreed), but I lost the money as the seller closed his account or something. Bastards, the lot of em.

How do they sleep at night????

Funny thing is, they took money off from me when i purchased the thing then take more off me again for claiming it back......at least i know the number to ring now. Im not letting it go, if people dont complain then they will just keep getting away with it.

that's big of them  - how about reporting them to the police for theft

ebay and paypal are **** to deal with when it comes to refunds . even though they are making millions every single day from us.

they charge for listing, then paypal charge for recieving then ebay charge again for final value, and when there's a problem do they give a ****....

$25 ****ing dollars for processing, thats bollocks!!! what the hell do they do to justify charging you $25 dollars to get YOUR money back!!
