Chrome add-on/extention help

I downloaded IDM, installed it, and all of a sudden my browser has changed the start page, and added something called UnisaLes and some other add-ons,
I managed to remove most of them from all browsers, except UnisaLes on chrome, and mystartsearch on firefox , searched online for a guide to remove it, tried that, but it didn't work.
Please don't tell me I have to format...... :roll:

Any tips?

shitty adware mate you need to do a bit of messing to get rid manually as it affects all browsers have you tried malwarebytes anti-malware i use it all the time

As posted above, I use the same program you should be able to download a free version of the official website.

Thanks, tried it, everything put in quarantine, restarted, same problem...
Trying another program now

it may not be the adware that is left and simply that it has modified a lot of your personal settings, uninstall chrome ect and delete all folders in your profile (backup your favourites ect) and it should clear them.

Just ran adaware and it found even more crap, but still the two on chrome and fox left.
Doing a full scan with mse now, will try your way when done Andy, thanks

there will always be spyware crap, everytime you visit a website it dumps a tracking cookie to feed information from you and that will flag in most adware scanners.

Make sure you have a good AV, the free version of avast is good. and malwarebytes usually picks up most of the excess stuff.

Well it's been 4 years since the last time I've had this problem, haven't used any anti ad program since then, used nod32 for a couple years and switched to mse 2years ago when I did my semi annual format.
Maybe time for it anyways, but in the middle of doing three reports for work so
timing couldn't be worse

mse took care of the problem on fox, but not chrome, so uninstalled and reinstalled chrome, which looks like it fixed the problem.

it will just have been add-ins and settings, bloody pain in the ass lol.

glad its working now.

Yeah, I'll give it a few days and keep my eye on it though, did a backup just in case I have to format...
