Choosing a focus.....

It's good to have a goal to stick to whether that's a set of loosies or maybe a carded ROTJ run, the list is endless really. Don't feel like you have to start a character focus or anything like that just work on stuff you enjoy picking up. No doubt over time you'll develop an appreciation for all kinds of different SW stuff. Good luck. G

I used to hate character focuses to begin with. In the end they grew on me after I tried a few other types of run. Unlike some others I never had the figure that I focus on now as a kid. 8)

Decision made.

It's time to hunt for Ackbar and Walrusman stuff! Went for 2 characters as a nice side focus to a full loose run. I have a PBP Wally on the way to compliment my HK COO figure, followed by my first Ackbar- can't wait to get my hands on this fella. What struck me when searching was the amount of oddball items involving these 2, so the hunt should be both fun and long.

So, if anyone has anything taking up shelf space at a reasonable price with an aquatic theme, you know where to come!

Thanks again for your advice and support, my own hobby within a hobby continues to evolve. New camera on the way so a few pics in LA thread to follow this week.

Jim.

Good thread

I've been thinking about a figure focus for 2015, been umming and argghing, had about ten in my head for it but the wife loves Greedo and ERG so have decided to go for Greedo. Looking forward to getting started, want to add at least one piece per month in 2015 including at least one more expensive piece over the course of the year.

Also concentrating on getting at least one of each figure on a card, this is my main focus with greedo being my side focus.

Looking forward to seeing your focus grow pal.

In the mean time if anyone has a Harbert Greedo they're looking to sell I'd certainly be interested

Good luck with your quest Jim! 8)

I chose Lobot as my MOC focus as i didn't have to worry about 12/20/32 backs etc & didn't think there'd be too many other collectors for competition.I thought the only expensive ones would be Palitoy until i learned about Meccano & Toltoys!

Similar to my thoughts as far as Ackbar goes, can't see there being too much competition and ROTJ cards only, but as you rightly point out there is the lure of foreign cardbacks to contend with!

A good plan- at least one piece per month is manageable and I will look to do this with Ackbar. My one expensive piece for him may be a Trilogo MOC looking at current prices. I think I may be a little over-optimistic collecting 2 focuses at once, so will adopt an 'as and when' approach with Walrusman but put some real time in with the Admiral. There are outstanding Ackbar items on the FS threads so I could easily get started now!
