Any thoughts or predictions guys!?

I just can't see you United losing but, as a fully paid up member of the ABU club I hope to **** they get hammered 200-0!

Thing is Barcelona are without Abidal, Alves (suspended), Marquez (injured) and possibly Iniesta and Henry (injured). Whereas United are missing...............Darren Fletcher  ! Ok he may have played well for them this year but he's hardly their most important player!

The way to stop Barca (IMO) is with a high tempo pressing game that forces them to play up the middle and doesn't give their full-backs any room to bomb down the wings. English sides are much better suited to the high tempo pressing game than other continental sides, as they play at a much higher tempo in the Premiership week in week out. Add to that Barca not actually having a fit full-back, apart from Silvinho who I think is actually older than Fergie, and I just can't see United not beating this Barca team.
TBF, even if Barca had a full strength side (and United had Fletcher) I'd still favour United, or indeed any other English (big four) side. Look at Barca's record against English sides........it's pish. Arsenal would have had them in the final a few years ago, but for that red card. Actually on that note, Barca are quite similar to Arsenal, in that they don't seem to have a plan B. Yes, plan A does work most of the time, but when it doesn't they don't seem to have a ****ing notion!

Tonight I reckon its 65:35 United to win, probably 2-1 or 3-1

COME ON BARCA!!!!!

Yeah, reckon it'll be MancU again. I'm gonna have to get up at 4AM to watch this. I would record it & watch it later (my afternoon off) if i didn't work with a bloody manc who's gonna tell me the score no matter what i say.
I just hope there's a few goals in it.

I think mancheater (yes that is mis-spelt on purpose) united will win, they are too dogged for pansy barcelona, all you need to do is get vidic to rake his studs down messi's leg and growl and you wont see him for the rest of the game.

saying that though, when manchester have a **** game they really do have a bad one...hence liverpools 4-1 win (come on...i have to take something from this season)

so barca could pin them back and beat them 2-0.....hopefully

I was talking to a United fan today about the game (he's a rare bred, a United fan who can talk about football without me wanting to stick my fist in his face cos he's spouting so much arrogant drivel.) Anyway, I was saying to him that despite United potentially being the first team to defend the Champions league (as opposed to the old "European Cup") I actually didn't think this United team is THAT good.
Don't get me wrong, they are a great team, but for some reason I feel the United team at the turn of the millenium (Beckham, Keane, Butt, Scholes etc) was a much better outfit than this side. I don't remember this current United team destroying too many sides, domestically, this year. FFS they won I don't know how mnay games 1-0. Yes, consistency win leagues, but I don't think they have ever hit the heights of previous United sides. You can't even say that is because the standard in Premier League has improved, because look how many sides didn't make the 40 point barrier. FFS Stoke and Bolton finished comfortably safe and both are TERRIBLE 'football' teams.
I actually think the standard of the top four in the Premier league this year is lower than it has been for a good while. I think most Arsenal fans would admit they aren't the team there were 3 or 4 years ago (Spoons?), Chelsea aren't the force they were and well, I'm not gonna comment on Liverpool cos I don't think you can be objective about your own team.
Add to that the implosion of Italian footy after the match fixing scandal, and the flight of so many top players from the relegated sides and the fact that there are only two sides in Spain (who aren't ****ed with debts the size of Iceland's) and of those two, one make Newcastle look like a well run club. And your left with an easier to win European competition than was the case four or five years ago.

I'm not belittling United. If they win it, it will be great achievement and fair play too them. I just don't think this United team is as good as teams gone by, and I don't think the general standard domestically and on the continent is as good as it was.

Am I right, or am I looking back with rose tinted specs?

fair play to barca, they were the better team on the night . we didn't seem to recover from that first goal :(

gotta love that challenge by scholes 8) how many year has he been playing football and he still cant tackle

Totally out played by a much better side.

I can't help but wonder why Fergy didn't try and copy Chelsea's tactics. Well actually, maybe he did. How the hell would we know, the United players didn't turn up so god knows what tactics they were supposed to be playin.
