As for timelines and price etc. it is a difficult question to answer. If you have the money then a run like this can be put together relatively quickly. If you worked hard you could do it in a few months if youve got the cash. It has taken me about about 2 years because at times I havent had the money and I have been really picky about my carded figures. All of mine are offerless and stickerless and the vast majority are unpunched. Being patient has been the key for me. It would be much easier to do this run if you were a little less picky about condition and stickers/offers werent an issue which they arent for most people.

In terms of price, it is again a tricky one. If you consider that in this run there are 29 figures plus the Rebo Band. For the 29 figures you would be expecting to pay anything between £25 and 40 for nice examples of most figures (more if you want top notch sometimes) that would bring the total to around £900-1100 I reckon especially when youve taken postage into account.

If you were less picky I honestly reckon this run could be done for about £600-800.

It is a fun one to put together especially starting off. Most cards are easy to find and none of them are too expensive. I think the most expensive one tends to be Luke Jedi at between £50-£60 for a nice one. On the other hand you have examples like Klaatu and Ree Yees and Lando Skiff that can go for anything from £15-30.

There are a few that are tricky to get in really nice condition. Gammorrean Guard, Rancor Keeper and the Emperor nearly always have dented up yellow bubbles. The ERG is always a popular one especially with a clear bubble. Wicket, Nien Nunb and the Biker Scout all tend to go for around the £40+ mark.

Many of the figures suffer from yellow bubbles. This is just something you kind of have to deal with when doing a Return of the Jedi Kenner Run. I would say that most of my ROTJ have yellowed to some degree. I am sure they all will as years go by. I have come to terms with this and I think as long as the bubble is mint other wise and the card is in great condition then it isnt too much of an issue. At least its not for me anyway.

79 backs tends to be the most difficult cardbacks to find. The majority of my run is made up of 77 Backs and 65 backs. (Mainly 77 backs)

If you are thinking of doing it and want any help or advice on rarity for ROTJ kenner cardbacks or prices then feel free to give me a shout and Ill do my best! I say go for it mate.

Yeah i wouldnt be too pushed about the cards condition, or possibly the bubble,, but i said that once about loose and that changed pretty quickly.

thanks for the ball park on the figures, its seems like it may take me a while but it will be worth the effort if i ever have space to display.

There are no other Production Six Packs available. The only other Six Packs that I know of are Catalogue Mailers.

I guess that was half the attraction of these for me. There simply isnt anything out there like them. I also love the photography on the boxes including the Rebel Soldier on the Yellow box who is holding the wrong blaster! :roll:

Iain - It is of course very cool to have something that not many people have. In the grand scheme of things there are items that are alot more scarce but this is definitely one of the rarer production items from the kenner action figure line IMO.

What is special about this piece for me is the story behind it. The anticipation of getting this was what made it worth the wait. Searching out the item, being in long dialogue with the seller and securing the deal privately made it feel like I had really earnt the right to own it. It was way more fun and interesting than simply hitting "Buy it Now" on an auction if you get what I mean. It is also the reason why I would find it extremely hard to ever part with it.

3 pack looks great!
I've never been sure what to make of six packs, they look very different to most SW packaging, you can't actually see the figures in them, but I guess that gives them there own distinctiveness.

Yeah your right it was rather a longwinded affair but through no fault of johns. It all just got a bit complicated. Glad its hear now thogh and it does look good.

As for the six packs, you are right. They are very different and I can see why you may be unsure about them. For me I thinly the irregularity is appealing. So different to the esb three packs that were around.
