when i saw yellow paint, i thought :|
i was wrong. looks fantastic buddy. have you got another alcove on the other side of the fire place?

Thanks alot guys there have been some really nice comments here and I appreciate you taking the time to post.

To answer one or two questions:

The is not another alcove the same the other side of the fireplace. I can see what the angle there is though. It would be cool to eventually have a mirror image the other side if there was one but I think in order to fill it it might take 5-10 years. There are enough gaps in the current display to allow me to fill them in the next couple of years. There is at least enough space for 4 more sets. :)

In case anyone was wondering/ concerned the fireplace is dormant and not intended for use.

With regards to the yellow paint I admit it was a fairly bold move but I wanted to pick out the yellow from the word Special on the packaging and utilise that as a backdrop. That way the black boxes would really separate them selves from the back ground. I hope it has paid off. I am happy with it. :)

Tundra9 - Unfortunately these things dont grow on trees buddy otherwise I would have more. I am a firm believer that "Good things come to those who wait." Just as well really as I will have to get used to waiting.

That looks sweet as Chris! Such a classy display and yeah I too was a but worried when I saw the yellow at first but you pulled it off nicely, great use of an unusual space.

You won't be thanking me for that poster after years of staring at it reminding you of the three packs your yet to buy

Your welcome bud, looks great in that frame.

Cheers Ryan

Thanks Josh. 8)

Ryan - dont worry mate I dont get bored of staring at that poster. I love it. As has been said many times on these boards in the past completion can sometimes be a bad thing. The whole time you are in search, you are engaged and excited. As soon as you complete a run it can sometimes leave a bit of a void. Sure it can be filled by going on a tangent or collecting something completely different but at the moment the thrill is very much in the chase.

Caswell That dispaly is really well done. My girlfriend just looked over my shoulder as I was looking at it and also said that it was nicely done so double props to you sir.

Regards

Grant.

Lol. Well I cant and wont argue with that comment Grant!

Thanks, Chris. 8)

I love these 3 packs Chris, really enjoyed reading the info you've provided on the proto's and engineering pilots too, great lime lite.

The design of your alcove reminds me of Cloud City. :D

Lol. Id never thought of the that. The curve perhaps echoes the shape of cloud city. You have just given me a nice idea Josh. It would be cool to paint a nice mural in the back of the alcove. If and when I come to doing a complete overhaul of the display I may do something like that.

Just reminds me of the sort of architectural style we see inside the place.
Could be in the day room that Han and Leia were in, getting into something a little more comfortable. :D

"Hello, what have we here?" (Lando - In the letchiest voice possible)

Brilliant update mate- the backdrop adds to the diversity of the collection- it's great to see an open example! I bet the survival rate of loose backdrops is very low.

Out of interest did the three packs come with any paperwork?

Thanks Ed, and thanks again for the heads up. There was no paperwork as such but they did include catalogues. I have taken these pics just for you mate as I have never removed the backdrop from this Droids Set set before.

P.S. The set was already opened on one end. Please dont think I opened a sealed set anyone!

Oh and Ed, unfortunately this is the closest you will get to seeing a Jawa in a 3 pack.

They made two different sets with ugnaughts but none with a Jawa..... Madness I tells ya!

That's what you think....... :o

Thanks for opening the Droids set up matey- that backdrop is minty fresh!
Is the catalogue exclusive to three packs?

I've always fancied doing a catalogue run- some of the artwork is fantastic.

Seriously going from strength to strength with your display Chris, the backdrops are a really nice touch love the 2 Tusken raider pose reminds me of the "what no" dude poking his head over the wall joke - what nobody to kill? look

& the concept logo is such a great piece buddy, a very well considered collection & credit to your forethought & commitments to a clean focal point & uncluttered display.

Very nice 8)

I really like the concept logo. One of the great things about this hobby is you learn/see something new every day.

Custom Made Lego "Caswell Set"

This was made by Ed specially for my three pack run. Its such a cool piece and I love the way it contains lego versions of me and two of my brothers! Areally thoughtful idea and this set now sits happily in my display.

Thanks Ed!! :D

Hahaha that is fantastic :) Immortalized in Lego Chris! What an honour!

Lol. Thanks for the comments guys. It was a complete surprise when Ed showed it to me and I was blown away. What a nice gesture. He has told me that it is a "Prototype" and that he hopes to do a full colour version which would be incredible. That said, I am dead chuffed with it as it is right now! 8)

That is pure quality and he even gave you the prototype! Genius.

Great job Ed you could make these a great little custom product mate, sure there'd be more than a few people wanting them.

 I forgot all about this! I am suprised it has made it to your limelight thread

Glad you like it buddy, it was great fun doing it! There will indeed be a full colour version in due time

Here is the backing text just incase you cant quite read it:

Caswell Set
"Three brothers track down elusive collectables,
causing wanton destruction along the way"
