Think there might be some other Emergency services workers on here..?
Well, after over 900 applications, a gruelling 13 weeks pre-selection, and then a 45min interview.....I'm now settling in to my role as one of fifty, new Armed Response Police Officers in Dublin...
One of the more 'Seasoned' members, but experiance is key my friends....
Absolutely chuffed! Worked my arse off over the last 18 months for this.... :D

My friends brother-in-law is/was an armed officer. I believe he patrolled one of the airports a few years ago.
Took him a while to get into.

Congratulations to you.

Congrats Jeff. A tough process, I'm sure.

I was Met for 12 years and now am NCA (National Crime Agency). I have a very comfortable chair behind a very expensive desk. Not exactly what you'd call emergency services but we do try some law enforcement, occasionally.

Cool, was at a briefing/conference before with a couple of NCA fellas in my previous role....

Congratulations Jeff - you certianly look the part!

Yeah, ehh, that's not him in the photo Spoons. It's blatantly photoshopped. The window of the car is down and it looks like the sun is shining. The windows should be up and it should be ****ing it down. The sun never shines over here! When it does people stand in street and point at the weird yellow thing in the sky, whilst getting third degree burns in 2 mins.

Congrats mate, does that mean you can get me off with any speeding tickets I get down south?

Great news Jeff, it just shows what can be achieved with some hard work and dedication.

Best of luck with it all.

Ian
