Carded Figures

Hi guys, just did a deal on a few carded figures.

The Obi Wan needs to be clarified as I am unsure if its a reseal or recard? It doesn't have the cross hatch and I am not up on ESB carded figures.

Just wanted a ball park figure for the rest?

Obi Wan is ESb 47 back, clear bubble with sticker tear at the bottom left... Just wondered why they would reseal/recard on this type of damaged card?

Leia is ESB 31 back (?), clear bubble, cross hatch pattern, greenish coloured neck, sticker and one crease from middle going in an arc downwards. Pretty nice really.

Bespin Security Guard 48 back, cross hatch pattern, not a great card, creases etc... Revenge sticker

Logray ROTJ 65 back on Pailtoy card, cross hatch pattern, yellowed bubble, nice card.

ImperialCommander is ROTJ 77 back, clear bubble, cross hatch pattern, nice figure. with 45 written on the back in red ink on topright hand side.

The rest are fairly bog standard carded figures with various creases etc...

Also have some cardbacks, but have no clue what these are worth? Interested Todd?

Hey Bram, may I ask which back the 8d8 is & also what backs the loose card-backs are m8?

BTW the green neck on the Leia is due to a reaction with the gold paint & the plastic if memory serves & is quite common.

Your Obi is a reseal and not a good one so probably worth the price of the figure and the cardback.....around $10 -15. Your imperial commander appears to be a reseal too. I see some type of residue under the bubble. As for the cardbacks, nothing all that special, maybe $1-$2 each. I may be interested in the two palitoy ones to add to the palitoy stash.

Thanks for the info on the Obi Wan, the Imperial Commander I thought was good as it does have the cross hatch pattern all the way round, can this be achieved by reseals?

It can have the cross-hatch patter when it is a reseal using the real attached bubble and resealing with glue.

Okay buddy, I shall bow to your better judgement.

Might keep it as a filler for a bit. Although then again it will be tainting my collection. Figure looks good so i might just open it!!

Anyone have any valuations on the carded figures, except Ben and Imperial Commander?

I have been advised that the Leia should be worth between £90 and £120? There's one that is not as nice up for $195 on evilbay.

Hey Bram, I would say the Leia is worth about £90-100. It could have pushed £120 but the discoloration on the neck and spider vein/ crease will prevent it reaching top dollar.

As for the rest of the ROTJ Figures:

Logray Palitoy - £15-20
Lando Skiff -- £15-20
Bib Fortuna - £20-25
B WIng Pilot - £20-25
8D8 - £20-25

Hard to judge exact condition from the pics.

Id like to see some close ups of the Obi Wan bubble and seal. I would write it off as a recard just yet personally. It could well be a slick sealed example. I have seen these on ESB cards before and they have looked very much like your one there.

I would be more suspicious of the imperial commander and the left/ lower left portion of the bubble where there are some interesting marks. I would have suspicions about this one being a part reseal.

The bib has a crack in the bottom and a wierd kind of matted card, not sure about whats going on at all. The 8D8 has a small tear on the side. Logray is spot on and the B-Wing Pilot has a wierd bubble attachment, looks like some sort of masking tape finish instead of waffled pattern.

Now with close ups...I too am thinking this is a slick sealed ben. The glare from the first picture did not show the seal up close.............................so I humbly have to say...I was wrong. I will let others chime in with their thoughts.

In light of the crack on the bib id say 15 pounds.

As for the Ben I'm going to go out on a limb and say its genuine. I can't say for certain but my gut instinct says its real. Is really need to see it in hand

I'll hazard a guess at 60-70 pounds because of the damage to the card. Not sure how rare he is on that cardback.
