I don't know why he does it with original cardbacks though. Surely for the purpose of a notebook it doesn't matter if they are legit originals!?

I heard him being interviewed on a podcast a while back. From memory, his take on it was he was recycling those unwanted cardbacks.

I sold some doublers of mine the other night and even quite mundane ROTJ cards went for the best part of a fiver. I'll assume there's no 30-back Fetts on those notebooks.

cool idea, agree they don't need to be authentic though and would look better with the rear of a card on the back!

Now something has just clicked! A while back I was looking for ESB cardbacks and kept seeing all these cards on Ebay with strange cut outs down the side like they had been in a ring binder. I wonder if it was this guy selling or if someone had bought his note books and flogged the cards.

It is a massive waste :roll:
