How 8 years has just flown by frightening, been thinking of him a lot recently, went to Burger King today for lunch and remembered it was his favourite fast food places. Miss you Ash :( I promise I will go and see your parents soon, its been awhile.

Remember to keep his memory alive by remembering the happy times that you shared together, that way he will always be there with you through life.

Thats true thanks. Every time Man U win I think there you go mate they won again for you. Not a footie fan in any shape or form but sort of support them in his memory.

Nick's right. For as long as you keep thinking about your friend and remembering the good times, a part of him lives on in you.

Like most of us on this forum, I suppose (given the typical age of its membership), I too have lost people I was close to over the years. It's horrible when it happens, but you're quite right, it can be frightening just how fast the time flies by. The immediacy of the pain and loss thankfully diminishes, but the sorrow that they have departed never really goes away, and can creep up on you and surprise you into sadness again quite unexpectedly. However, remembering the good things about those people and how much they meant to us can bring some comfort. I find myself remembering the funny things they said most of all. Just this afternoon I thought of an hilarious insult thrown my way in jest by someone I still miss terribly, and it raised a smile on my face thinking about the gleeful way they deliberately made me look stupid :)

Thanks mate your right. we had some funny times.

My younger brothers best friend unexpectedly died out of the blue when he was only 18 from an aneurysm, that was close to 10 years ago now. My bro goes to his mom's house once a year on his birthday for food and drinks, and go to his grave with a few of their mates and let off some Chinese lanterns.

Life can be very cruel, but as long as someone is remembered even in the smallest way then they're never actually gone.

Sorry to read this starwarsfan. Life is far too short but good to keep you your friend's memory alive

Yes, like my eldest niece who also passed away from an aneurysm at 19 around 6 years ago.

The way I look at it is that I was priveledged to have had the time with them in the first place and that I celebrate their life in a positive way, taking with me all the fun happy memories they brought in mine and my family's life.

Thanks mate.

I think you never get over the loss of a loved one, you just kind of get used to it. It's your duty to keep their memory alive and raise a glass to them once in a while. Keep the faith mate.
