Brand New SNES Consoles

As you may have seen in the latest acquisitions thread, I picked up a case of 6 brand new boxed SNES consoles and a couple of people have showed interest in buying one. I only want to keep one for myself so the other 5 are for sale. I only opened one to check that the seller hadn't sent me 6 boxes of rocks, the rest have never been opened. As you can probably imagine these really don't come up for sale often. The last 'sealed' one on eBay sold for over £700, which is stupid as the boxes never came sealed an the seller probably added his own tape, but people (as with Star Wars) will pay through the nose to get one that has never been opened before.

All contents are obviously mint and unused, the boxes are also near mint, you can tell they've never been opened by how stiff the flaps are.

They are Singapore spec PAL consoles, which means they are the same as the UK/European console, it just somes with a different plug. It's the same voltage so if you wanted to play it, all you need to do is snip the 2 pin plug off and wire on a 3 pin plug.

I'm listing them on eBay for £300, but will sell on here only for the price of £250 + postage each (they are heavy so will be about £15 to post.) I think that's a very good price for something that rarely comes up for sale, and it's certainly less than many MOCs cost!

Here are some photos, please drop me a PM if you're interested.

You should keep the whole packing case IMO Ed, I mean how many are out there?? & its such a big hit when you see the case complete that I personally feel it would detract massively from the item(s) if you were to split them up, but that's just my opinion.

I agree it's a great thing to have, but it's too big a box to keep stashed away, and as you can probably imagine they cost me a lot so I need to sell at least a few to claw some money back. It's the same reason you never seen boxes of SW ships either, they do exist but they always get split up because no matter how 'cool' they are, nobody wants or can afford a box full.

The shipping box isn't in great condition, it has all kinds of tape and stickers all over it from 20 years of being shipped around the world! I'll probably list it for sale on its own once they've all sold. Full boxes are rare but they're not unique, so I don't think it's a problem to split them up.

Ed, that is so cool, I'll drop someone I know who might be interested, are they UK or European in terms of the powersupply etc?

All the best,
Dave

Cheers Dave, yes as above it's identical to a UK console, just needs the plug changing. In fact I'll happily do it for anybody :) You'll also obviously have to buy an RCA cable for a modern LCD TV unless you happen to still have a 1990s CRT TV  But you can pick these up for about £2 from eBay. Happy to provide links if needed.

got too excited seeing all the pics ;)

Only a few months ago i completed super Mario On my SNES again.

Great console.

By the way Edd, the plug is the correct one for most european countries, so maybe they sell better On the Bay with that plug then the UK 3way plug.

Me too,it took me back to when I opened mine for the first time :D Awesome!

3 sold so only 2 left as I'm keeping one for myself. They're flying out the door at £275 on eBay. So if you want one, be quick :)

I managed to get another complete case of these at a better price so if you'd like one, I will sell for £200 to members here (the last six all sold for between 275 and 300 on eBay). Drop me a PM if interested.

Another complete case? Where are you finding these?? Would these have just been shop overstock that never made it to the shelves??

Yes exactly, you'd be amazed what is just sitting in warehouses around the world waiting to be found. The majority of 'new' vintage Star Wars toys in circulation also come from similar finds.

If I had a spare £200 and the wife wouldnt kill me I would take one off your hands. Snes was my fav games console as a kid, absolutely loved it. Good luck with selling them Edd.

Thanks mate, no worries. One of them actually has a slightly damaged box, it's still fine but will put 'collectors' off as I'm sure we all know  So if anybody would like that one I'd do it for £175, bargain 8)
