Recently a number of very old collection threads of mine have been bumped to the top. The benefit of this has been chatting with newer collectors about the hobby and how my collection has changed. I haven't always been a Palitoy or trilogo miscard collector...and here is the evidence!

The threads were...

Palitoy Room This was updated with additional pictures several times towards the last 5 or so pages.

Vehicle & playset collection

POTF

Miscards

This prompted me to look back over old pictures to see what I could find.

Sadly I can't go that far back as I cannot find pictures of my room when it was entirely Kenner on display, but I have found some that show the transition from Kenner to Palitoy which people have asked me to post.

Firstly, the POTF wall with boxes of Palitoy waiting to be displayed...I think that's a box of Trilogos.

Another shot of the room. More trilogos waiting to be displayed and a desk of Palitoys!!

I did find this one that shows some of the ROTJ kenner cards above the loose figures and the beginning of the run of POTF. Also there is still a window in the room, you can see the blue curtains...there won't be for much longer

Cupboard full of Kenner MOC removed from the walls

The window has now been boarded up. Initially I moved the POTF here as the other 3 walls became entirely Palitoy. There is also some Kenner Boxed vehicles and playsets, which were also replaced when possible unless they were very different to the Palitoy version. You can even see the shelves that have the first 20 Palitoy cards on them...though they had been there for about 4 years at this point.

The picture above with the loose figures does not have the DT's or the Droids/ewoks figures yet (or the 2 vlixes). I got MOC sets of the droids/ewoks which joined the POTF wall built in front of the window. The only picture I can find is of the 6 Ewoks cards. These all were sold as more space became needed.

That's about all I could find, searching through 2 computers and countless picture files. If I find any more I'll add them to this thread.

Epic.

Love it mate, good idea for a thread.

Did Mr Palitoy buy those Ewok MOCs off you? I heard he's been looking to fill his palitoy trilogo ewok village. :)

Nerdgasm!
I've learnt a new word today. And that word fits this thread perfectly.

From what I've seen of your various phases of collecting over the past couple of days, Gary... I would have thought I would be quite prepared for any new photos that came to light. Not so. I'm a little dumbfounded, to say the least

No more words from me... I'm just going to carry on looking. And drooling.

Thanks for trawling through two computers for the photos, though- big thumbs up :D

Cheers guys

To be honest I didn't expect I'd find these pictures. And the ones I thought I might find, I couldn't. These ones are probably better as it shows how things were changing

Love it Gary - looks very much like my collection room at the moment (although sadly I am missing a few of the POTF MOCs) - it's great to see what you had and also what it revolved into

thanks gary for sharing this old pictures with us, awesome collection you had in the old days :D

It wasn't bad. But I changed it for something I felt was better and intend to keep for the foreseeable future

Cool thread 8)

Can i just ask why you boarded up the window? :?

2 reasons.

1. Limits Light coming into the room which can be damaging to bubbles, cards and the colour of figures/vehicles.

2. It provided a 4th wall against which to display MOC
