Biggest toy regret

I look back at sales threads I did 6 or so years ago and see plenty of things that would sell for more now but then if I hadn't sold them I wouldn't have picked up some of the goodies that I have now so it is all relative

Great post and it's a good way of looking at it.

Hi guys

I'm sure many of you have parted with stuff in the past for various reasons and regretted it. Hell, I've even regretted purchases in the first place.
However, I'm going to post a few pics of my main selling regrets.

I had a nice Leia too but can't find the pic of that one.
I don't regret parting with that carpet though.......

Go on guys, be brave, post some of the items that you wish you still had.

Regards
Paul

Paul if I had such moc then I am 100% sure I would also regret selling them. That was some fantastic moc you had

I don't tend to let much that I really like go so am lucky to that extent - but am sure some of the guys that have been doing this for 20 years have a few regrets just based on prices now - I saw a thread bumped on RS the other day with a TFP Proof staying around for months at $200!

I'll say. Getting frustrated at not being able to complete my 12bk proof run (Jawa short of the 12) so selling up, is up there! Selling a POCH esb Rebel Soldier for a fraction (like 10%) of what they fetch these days. Selling an EB kit with MISB DT Luke for £360 (another 10% sale there by the looks of it). The regret goes on. But then, I was happy at the time, so probably should remember that.

No massive regrets from me, I sold a first shot last year that I kind of regret but only as I couldnt now afford to buy it back if I wanted.

Otherwise everything is fairly common just a lot more expensive than when I sold it - these two I regret most

Wow that was an amazing at-at, never seen a white insert for that vehicle

I don't have many regrets collecting wise, I like to keep my collection pretty fluid, moving stuff on to buy other bits, that way it never gets boring. I'm not a hoarder style collector, I have limited space.

This is kind of where I come out. I have changed up certain items in my collection over time, which makes things fun. I don't really regret selling anything I've ever owned, but feel I am about to make a move that I may regret.

I have built up a pretty solid non-U.S. Han Solo original MOC run to compliment some of my other Han Solo items. My family has moved into a new house, and I could use some additional funds to help with all the expenses coming up. Some of these items have a decent amount of value, so I am contemplating moving on from them and replacing them down the line with card backs for the same items. I have one MOC in particular that is one of two known - so selling will mean I will never get him back.

But I think I am gonna do it and not look back. Can't live life with any regret.....

My only regret is selling two of my proof cards at 2013 prices  If only I had waited another year Gahhhhh!

My only regret is selling some of my childhood star wars and mix the rest of my childhood star wars with my collection

Same except it was 2009 when I sold two revenge proofs, last 17 mocs, and rotj proof when the economy tanked for next to nothing. Now kick myself for doing that.

Hmm. Tough one. I've sold a few things at what are now very crazy prices.

In terms if buying, I was gutted I missed out on this display. I made a big bid at the time but the seller kept back and forthing between me and someone else and I eventually missed out on it. Oh well. "Theyre only toys."

What was really cool about this display is that it all lit up and moved! Not seen another like it since. Some folk on here will remember this surfacing.

I remember I saw one on ebay some years ago, I also lost that auction :( Could have been cool to have such a display :D

Selling these, not because of the prices sold for but because it's unlikely I'll be able to replace them again for anything close to that anytime soon

You'll get a Jawa no problem - toytoni (spit) still knocks them out at under £100.

Ben will come around too.

Try selling a fairly mint DT Vader for $1,300 ;)

I imagine that would be rather more painful - still we live and hopefully learn plus both of mine went to good homes

Beautiful meccano you had, I would also be sad if I had sold such moc. Jawa should be easy to find again for a good price. I am not sure but is jawa and kenobi not the easy meecano moc to get ? :? If I remember correct then it is the ones I see most of for sale :D

I hope you find some again

They are the easiest to get hold of, just not necessarily for the prices I paid originally

I agree, prices are crazy today. Sometimes I wish we could get back to the good old prices 10 years ago :D

I have the jawa that I got in a trade with potf moc. Maybe you can get lucky to find one who have them and will trade with you

Selling the first 79 figures on mint clear bubble ROTJ cards for £2500 in 2005. I handed them over in 2 Jedi shipping cases to make it worse. It included a mint Fett (not TT), Luke FB (not TT), Leia etc.

 ok that was a good price for the buyer, so do you miss the moc or is only because of the price you got for them ? :?

Miss the moc of course, but dont get me wrong, i'd love to have them to sell now instead. More than happy with my new collection though that's better in many ways if not as extensive as my 90's/00's collection. They were sold to help with a deposit on my first house so needs must at the time.
