best adhesive for custom bubbles.

I also want to add that I think the rise in cardback values is due to people resealing figures to the exact cardbacks they are purchasing.

That does make total sense with the price of MOC's nowadays. Also i think some people have moved into just card back collecting due to the same thing and maybe also the space needed to display your collection (without being divorced!).

I've spent a fair whack in the past on getting just the right card back in the right condition for a fix up job so I can see how the price can easily go up. Just look at what all those logo Palitoy card backs with bubbles went for recently on ebay. They didn't even come with figures but still went for big money, it's enough to put someone off even starting a collection.

The good thing though is that most of these items to seem to turn up regularly so hopefully that will set the prices a bit closer to what they used to be.

This does only seem to have happened in the last twelve months. I began buying knackered cards with bubbles sometime around January 2013. 12 months later, having just about completed the ESB run, reseals and loose bubbles have most definitely gone crazy. It's just what happens when things become popular i guess. Bit of a shift in collecting fashions

hey,
a couple of you mentioned on here that you have glued down vintage bubbles to there cardbacks
ive got 2 vintage card backs (not in fantastic condition) where the bubble has come off down one side, i would very much like to re seal them back down

i have no interest in selling these on, there not perfect and ive seen the (top loader) way other collectors fix down the bubble but i cant get hold of these top loaders. and i dont really like the look of it

if anyone would mind dropping me a message please.

if anyone would mind helping me please
thank you

Martin, I removed your email address from your post above, the private message function on the forum is your best bet. It's fairly easy to figure out.

thank you for the reply
the reason i have trouble with the PM is because some profiles don't seem to have that function?, so i don't see any other way of contacting individual members on here

i had a feeling my email would be removed, that's fine, i wasn't too bothered about people maybe spamming it anyway.

i wanted to message x-pack or Palifan to ask there advice on fixing the vintage bubbles but they don't have a PM

jason i looked on a few uk sites and ebay and no site down here seems to sell them or they are out of stock

just wondering how much postage would be for 2 then please? just so ive got some idea
thanks

i originally thought the top loader method wouldnt work as the bubbles on my cards are still partly attached, i just managed to find a photo on another site showing how its done with a carded figure, so you put the cardback/bubble in the top loader upside down? and cute a section out for the bubble to slide up in then?, seems like it might be a good idea

Everyone should have the Pm function. I don't think it shows up until your posts have been approved. You should be laughing now.

I was wondering if anyone could suggest a supplier of custom POTF/Droids-style bubbles for customs. I just completed my fist run in 8 years, and would like to do another. But I'm running low on bubbles (which I last ordered ~10 years ago). That predates my Gmail archive, so I can't even find the original supplier. So far my Google searches have been fruitless, and this thread is the best match I've found.

Here's my most recent project. The cardback art is my own original.
