Has anyone heard of any ben capes or any vinyl capes for that matter that are smooth on both sides,

Just received a white haired ben HK coo, and the cape is smooth on both sides, no zip sound on one side.

All my other vinyl capes have the zip sound on one side.

I have heard of non-zipping vinyl capes before, but I think it was Hoth Troopers as opposed to Kenobis...

Yes this is another big problem with repro and orginal capes how do we spot them

I have heard rumors about some orginal leia and ben capes does not make the zip sound and they are smooth on both sides.

I have a leia cape that does not make the zip sound, but I am still confused about if it is original.

I have 2 Lili Ledy Darth Vader capes there the Lili ledy cape is smooth on both sides and does not make the zip sound.

Sorry that I can't ID or confirm anything about a ben cape

I also have original stomtrooper capes and some of them does also not make the zip sound :?

also the cape is shorter than the ben capes too!?

You could try taking a close up photo with the macro setting on a camera, this can reveal a lot more than the naked eye. I had a cape that was suspect and the close ups revealed the edges were very jagged, leading me to go with repro....

I have a leia cape that does not make the zip sound, but I am still confused about if it is original.

I'm in the same boat and its difficult to be 100% sure its genuine even though it came from someone who appears to be a reputable seller.

I have also had a Ben Kenobi cape that was smooth both sides and from what I can tell came from a childhood collection and appeared to have the correct faint line marks on it and the same with a Vader cape.

No question that capes/cloaks give me the biggest cause of uncertainty!

hcheers chubbs have macro shot it and the cut os really clean no jaggard edges, its similar in texture to the hk coo tusken cape.

this version cape is not described on tig , i bought this ben of a really reliable and decent bloke so feel bad for checking, just cant stand the thought of havin repro crap in my displays. like taking drugs to win the tour de france just not right! im 100% pure
