An intern is an employee/representative of a company. You would have to be retarded to allow behaviour like that to reflect poorly on your company image. I'm sure producers of a TV show would be impressed as well. Who is supervising this underage employee?

I agree with you wholehearted... and understand. You need to know that during these past four days I have been in California, filming 16 hours a day. I get up, film for the day, come back to my hotel room and sleep. That's about it.

I have two interns that work remotely, off site. They do research for me on several projects. The one intern I have at my office is monitored by the office manager, who is 27.

This situation was brought first to my attention not by others in the community but by my intern herself.. who admitted that she may have gotten carried away. That's when I stepped in.

I flew in from California last night, and the first thing I wanted to do was come here and address the issue. It was literally the first chance I got. I hope that my concern in, and of itself, counts for something.

Again, if I do not respond to the board please do not equate it with not caring.. this is Toy Fair week in NYC, and then I travel again. I encourage people to contact me via my E-mail.

My best to you all, and thank you again.

I think you need to respond on the forum where the most damage has been done to the community. She continues to post things that really do not look good for you. Time for some damage control.

Got it covered thanks.

BTW, I see you're in Michigan. I will be there next month. Hit me up, I would like to buy you a drink.

Best-

Hi Jordan, nice of you to drop by a clear up some of the questions. Shame about that Luke, good luck with the sale. Hope they find a good home.

:)

Think mistakes have been made, and Jordan seems to have addressed these, I for one appreciate Jordan coming on and clearing things up a fair bit.

Figures seem legit, from a trusted source so apart from the poor " middleman " sales technique maybe it's time to let this sleep.

Just my 2pence minus tax and vat !

I wish you would respond to emails that are sent out but, I understand you being busy. I sent a few on the Palitoys....no response. Oh well no worries. I was told by KB that they were sold to Matt. Not me(Matt). Still not sure why gave a set like this to have a young teenage girl to sell. She doesn't have the maturity to sell a set like this. Especially of this calibre. Some collectors in the community don't have the maturity to sell this set. LOL. I am sure you know what you are doing.

When I was young I worked for a comic book store. All they had me do was pack and stack books. I would sell at cons and find collections. I earned my wings. I didn't stick my nose where it didn't belong and I never acted like I knew everything. I shut my mouth and listened. Plain and simple. I learned a lot. Once I proved my worth...I started to buy collections. I never started from the top.

On to the walking dead marathon....off the soap box and back to Guinness Black.

It's amazing how often a complete set of these comes up for sale. Always a pleasure to see a set. 8)

Really? How often. This is the first time I have seen set in a while. If I am wrong.....then I need to stay away from the forums when I am drinking. LOL :D

Yeah i just think at this time it needs addressing. We've never really had this issue come up before so not needed to approach it before. If it's decided that actually we/you/Edd want a forum where everyone and anyone can join no matter their age then perhaps rules need to be set in place where certain language can't be used and certain topics (porn, explicitly detailed sex discussions, what celebrity will die next  ) are forbidden. That would be a shame, not because we NEED all that nonsense but it's just part of the "chill the **** out and enjoy yourselves" vibe that we so carefully cultivate here. I just don't think morally we can have it both ways is all.

Gotta disagree Pete. I don't think we can or should do anything to limit access on here. For a start, HOW do we enforce an age limit! Ask new members to email us a copy of their passport or drivers licence? If we ask them for their DOB and then say "sorry you're too young" they'll just reregister with a different DOB. As for banning certain words and topics of conversation. We're not RS! This place is so good BECAUSE people can be themselves, they don't have to be all straight laced, polite and stay on topic. You can come on here and chat as you would with your mates down the pub. THAT'S why this place is so popular.

As you say yourself we don't encounter this problem very often. How many teenagers are interested in toys made 20 years before they were born! Not many, i'd guess! Even those that are and do sign up here, so what if they hear/read topics with rude words of politically incorrect/slightly immoral conversations? FFS they can and probably do hear a lot worse in every day life. Besides, as Joe said, there is a hell of a lot worse out there on the internet!

No you just have one of them enter your DOB things at sign up. It means that even if someone underage does sign up we as members are covered and can't be blamed for anything that is said. 1000s of web-sites apply the same procedure for the same reasons.
But i'm not saying this has to be the way to go it was just one way of doing it. I don't want the forum to change either but saying that there are worse things on the net so it doesn't matter doesn't hold any water to me. It's like stealing a newspaper from a shop and going "well there are a lot worse thieves out there" er??
I think if we still want this place to be open to 13yr olds. 12yr olds 10yr olds etc then at the very least there needs to be a small, gentle warning upon sign up that there may be discussions of an adult nature on this site and please don't sign up if you're easily offended. Or something to that effect. It's more about covering ourselves.
If for example this kid had gone running to her dad and said "look what these grown men have been saying to me on this site" Joe or Edd have no comeback. At the very best it's a little embarrassing. But with a note on sign up or a "enter your age" procedure you just say "well... we did tell you".

But i agree IF anything is done it needs to not change the forum in any way. I'd like the forum to stay as it is but IF a teenage girl was a member here i'd personally start being very careful and dare i say even think twice about posting most of the things i post but that's just a personal thing. It's like when some tool brings a kid into the pub and you all have to quieten down a bit and stop swearing.

A complete set came up for sale in 2010...all 20 in fact.

over the couple of years before that 2 more complete sets came up for sale though the owners were prepared to break them up and sell them. In fact I sold one of the on behalf of the owner...though I'm no 14 year old girl

Don't forget that Weasel!!

And people lie on them all the time. I know i virtually never put my real DOB in them.
I can't see us ever being held accountable for what's said on here. If anyone said anything truly offensive they'll be put in their place, unless the person on the receiving end has done something deserving of said abuse. The site disclaimer says that all opinions are only those of the person expressing them etc.
Don't see how a DOB thing achieves anything.

Jordan replied and cleared everything up with me. Thank you for taking the time to do this when there was not much time to take period. Wish I still had the money. :(

Nice PR move there  ....anyways...I am sure in year all will be forgotten. Next time....do not try the teen sensation youth promo move and I think you will be fine.

Cheers,

I agree with weaz on this one. It's not something that can be regulated effectively. I also rarely put my correct info on.any forum's or sites I visit. That's just the way I am. I know we all like to have fun and lark about a bit but if we collectively feel that there is a serious safeguarding issues surrounding some of the comments people make etc. Then we all need to to look at the way we converse. That would be a bit of a shame as the care free way of speaking on here is appealing to some.

All this being said, there are many more serious concerns that i have for teens of today. I think this site pales in comparison to places like facebook for danger. Kids with mobile phones these days have internet access and cameras and one of the most concerning things happening right now amongst young teens is the ease with which they can access porn through mobiles and the rise in teens swapping sexual images of eachother through phones. That is a very real and scary social development.

Just my two cents.

Chris.

I agree. As I said before this was an isolated incident and we do not need to Knee jerk. IMO this was a failed PR move (and a bad one at that). No need to change it up due to the fact a teen was put out there to do an adults work.

No response to all this on RS (as Jordon stated was his priority) and the teen is still loose with baiting comments in threads like below...........Tee hee watch toy hunter.....tee hee I have other bad comments (ie..this forum)

All fair points tho i don't think we should be taking Weasel's opinion on this too seriously. We all know what's really motivating it.
